Don't know if anyone watched it , but the SEC crew last night on the season preview of the conference predicted the CATS to go 8-4:football::football::football::smiley::sunglasses:...I'm #ALLIN...come on folks get those tickets and let's fill up the new CWS for the team. Everything is in place and now it is time for us to do our part!!!

I was pleasantly surprised at their 8-4 projection. Notwithstanding Patrick Towles optimism for getting to Atlanta in December, an 8-4 regular season is about my extreme upper limit on how well I think the Cats will do this season. I will be very disappointed if we don't go at least 6-6 and make a bowl game.

It is clear we have finally arrived. Anybody who knows anything about football knows this team will challenge in the east. These 6 and 7 win debbie downers are either poor fans or just dont have a firm grasp on reality. I say 9 or 10 win season is withen reach

I like it and it all sounds good and I think is completely doable...but if you watch the other previews for the other schools and xref the picks against each other, they don't add up. On the Florida preview they pick Florida over UK... I'd like to see the SC and Miss St previews. My guess is that they are overly optimistic with every team...and I'm OK with that. Just know what it is.

Im just ready to see improved play. As much as I've heard everyone say our defense wont be up to next year's, I caught Stinchcomb saying it will be better. FWIW. Interior D line should be better at least.

Ready for the season, regardless. Feel like I have rabies.

It's not clear we have arrived until we actually win. That's the way competition works! People aren't Debbie Downers because they want to see results before they jump on a bandwagon, they are realist. Hope all you want, dream all you want, but fans like you have also been saying the same thing for 30 years, and then walking away disappointed almost every season. I got called a Debbie Downer every year Joker was here for being pessimistic and predicting that he would fail.. and guess what, my predictions were right. I'm as excited as the rest of us and expect a great season with at least 6 wins, but damn, why challenge other fans just because they aren't ready to predict that UK will win more games than they have since the 70's??? Let's not act like UL fans and thump our chests before we've actually accomplished anything! Is that OK with you?

You are a homer alright.

From the beginning, I have predicted 6-7 wins and a 2nd tier bowl this year. I still think so. I am not a debbie downer or a poor fan. I know a fair amount about football, and I have a firm grasp on reality. Part of having a firm grasp on reality involves realistically understanding our schedule. If we sweep our September games, we can win 8.

And I guess you are calling out our QB for his predictions too? It is sad how little faith some of our fans have in our players and coaches...smh

Nope. I love towles comments. I'm talking about every post of yours. I don't normally pull the not a true fan stuff but you sound like somebody impersonating a UK fan trying to be clever, but failing miserably.

I have no idea why Louisville fans are always doing this. It's very common and especially at KSR. Usually, though, they adopt the "concern troll" tactic, pretending to be a disgruntled UK fan who is embarrassed to have fallen so far behind UofL, "hoping" that Stoops can turn things around, but doubting that it's possible etc etc. The poster here appears to be adopting a different tactic; pumping the sunshine so hard and so unrealistically that so that Louisville fans can read the posts and make fun of UK fans over on their own board.

Homerblue: your use of "homer" in front of blue is easily to be taken as a negative to start. The fact that you'd predict a season of 9/10 wins makes you look like a homer, it's an unprecedented prediction with nothing to back it up. Then you put down other fans who are realistic.

I like this prediction of 8-4, still think 7 -5 is our tops. Next year...we will see. Lots of questions yet to be seen.

Has anyone for one second ever thought of the power of positive thinking? I have followed UK football since the mid 70s...I don't need a history lesson. Not that history really has any real impact on what happens in the future. If the GD cubs can turn it around in 2 years, why the hell cant UK football. What the hell are you afraid of? Being wrong? Pffft...the players and coaches don't have this mentality, neither should fans

First of all. Stinch was the 8-4 guy. McElroy was 6-6. Secondly, I put Homerblue on ignore a long time ago. He's as easy to see through as a window with the pane pulled up.

We do have an opportunity to make some noise this year. Will we? That remains to be seen but I like our chances of making a bowl.

That getting me all fired up with the SEC crew think we could go 8-4.

This is the Petjurino of UK. An obvious tard fan trying to hard to pretend to be a UK fan.

I don't know how people can be Debbie downers if the are predicting 6 or 7 wins. I thought we only had 5 wins last year? Soooo by that fact, how does saying we'll win 1 or 2 more games make anyone a downer? Your logic and argument is quite flawed. You only have an argument if someone says 4-8 or under.

What was your name on here before it was homer blue?

The fact remains that from a realistic standpoint, UK needs merely to get to a bowl game. The extra practice, the media exposure, fanbase reaction, and recruiting will all take a jump and help out the program immensely. Eight wins is doable. We were two plays away from seven wins last season. There is no reason not to expect Eight victories except for the fact that our linebacker depth is critical at this point, and our depth across the board, however talented, is still very young for the SEC.

We are still building regardless of what you people think. We are not at our peak yet. We do not have incredible depth yet. We do not have a program that can be predicted to get to Atlanta. If we lose starters anywhere besides WR and maybe QB, we are treading on thin ice. We are one or two plays away from playing freshmen at critical positions.

Be smart about this, folks. It is more than okay to root like crazy for these guys, but don't kid yourself. They've put in hours upon hours of work to improve themselves, but nothing they do is going to make a clone. The talent is there, the hard work is there, the will is there, the coaching is there, but the depth is not quite there yet, and neither is the experience. All works in progress, but I like the enthusiasm. Reach for 10, end up with 8. I'm cool with that.

Not out of the realm of possibility...

i believe we definitely have an 8-4 caliber offense...but this isn't the Pac 12 or Big 12 where you can win solely because of scoring...have to stop people in the SEC...

-can the D get to the opposing QB
-can the D get off the field on 3rd down
-can the D stop the run

have to see solid improvements in those 3 areas to have a legit shot at 8-4....
