Gym, theater, restaurants, 'social staircase' planned for $175 million student center at UK
UK released a virtual walk-through video Tuesday of the future student center and provided a host of new details about the 360,000 square-foot complex. It will include a 650-seat movie theater, a "social staircase" for hanging out, a new visitor center, more new restaurants and a gym.
Officials are calling it UK's new campus "living room," as they woo this generation's consumer-savvy students.
"We are committed to creating a student center that does just that: provides a community-gathering venue that serves as a welcoming respite for our students, faculty, staff, and visitors," said Eric Monday, executive vice president of finance and administration.
