Stoops has said they are not going to red shirt him, that they are commited to playing him this year.
If Wohl was the better player coming out of camp then Goodwin is either vastly over rated or in horrible shape
I don't see how he could do any worse
This was a game we should have won obviously

Where is Buford? He was slated as a starter until right before the first game and was really talked up in fall practice. Never sees the field. Do not understand it.

They said Wohl knew the playbook better and that was what got him the nod. No need to rush Goodwin and ruin his confidence. That happens and then he becomes a false start in action or starts holding every play.

Kid is ssllloooowwwww, I mean n glacial, horrible footwork as well.
Not to be snippy, but I'm guessing you're not an OL coach. If he was slooooowwww and had bad footwork, we wouldn't have recruited him along with several P5 teams and he wouldn't have started the first game. He's inexperienced. He may prove to be unable to be more than.a serviceable backup. But, geez, it's real early in his career to write him off as a palooka. He made a bad play, for sure.

Again I ask, where is Buford if Goodwin is not ready? More experienced and was neck and neck to start earlier.

I could care less if he was heavily or lightly recruited…he’s downright pitiful. He’s like Jordan Swindle bad when aStopps first got here

On the sack it was a very good chip by TE and wohlbaugh barely got a hand on the kid to get to Levi’s. This play lost rhe game and his Miami Ohio outing…it’s goofy to run him out there

Buford wasn’t near this bad in spring and Goodwin….hard to imagine he’s worse even with limited knowledge

He’s a guy I don’t want to see play again this year or next…you just can’t improve that much from as bad as he’s playing

I must say that the lack of development from our young “supposedly “ talented offensive linemen is startling . I mean , several of these guys were big recruiting wins with really good offer sheets . Up to this point, none of them look like they will become what we’ve been used too .

News flash Goodwin looks just as lost. Neither one are very good right now although Goodwin has really good potential.

I think they would actually prefer to play their prizes 5 star recruit. But obviously he’s nowhere near ready to play

Bingo. Plenty of comments that suggest the guy is nowhere near college physique. Without the proper strength and conditioning, you're asking for an early career injury - especially if you lay him out there against an SEC defense.

Dude supposedly has good IQ and measurables that staff can't change. Would've expected to see him in some capacity already, but then again, offense has kicked the team in the nuts about every year since Stoops has arrived. We're never able to get backups in for game experience.

Goodwin plays in some capacity, he's in on the XP/FG units. As for LOS run/pass plays...no.

Yeah, my bad. Was talking about experience with the offense and not ST.
I know and I agree. That XP/FG unit in the line is Goodwin, Young, snapper, Rodriquez, Buford. Still seems to me they could give those guys ONE series, at least it'd be something. What was Flax injury, cramp which means he'll play vs SCAR or hammie which means he'd likely miss a few games?

Lots of guys on the OL are young and they will learn. Give them time. Everyone makes mistakes.
True but , it’s hard to develop the youngsters when your veterans are planning so bad they can’t get quality snaps against the 3 non P5 schools we’ve played. Flax, Horsey, Cox , and Manning should be doing better than they are . Of course this is Cox’s first year at center and Horsey should be playing guard instead of tackle.

OL and DL usually takes two or three years to get good. It’s premature to pass sweeping judgement on some of these guys.

the only UK exception I can think of was Kinnard who was great at the very end of his freshman season. But it was also the very end of the season.

I would direct the scorn at the guys who have been in the program for more than three years. Anybody else has a low skill set that we just have to look at as investment right now and expect the returns down the road.

sucks to say there is no solution sometimes but thems the breaks
