11 pts 6 boards a steal and a nasty throw down in about 10 minutes.
He tried to spark UK off the bench but UCLA just kept hitting big shots.
I see bigger minutes on the horizon for my Bullitt Co. Boy.

Anyone have a still shot of Willis' break away rim rattler?

I hate when they hit those swampy bog shots. I can't believe anyone can set their feet in the muck!

Willis finally had another solid outing. If he can do that more consistently there are more minutes to be had

Willis probably won't play more minutes as it feels like Cal isn't comfortable with him. But I see a team that really struggles to rebound at times, shooting from outside is really poor. I'd like to see him grab more minutes at times as we go big from the 3 spot and when Murray/Ullis leave the floor...Willis needs to come into game at the 4 spot to give shooting help. He really needs 15-20 min a night IMO.

He should play more, we need him in there for offense. The kid can score and he's proven it, he just needs to play harder on defense.

Just had to shake my head when willis came in was whistled for a bs foul and cal did his normal thing of pulling him out for quite awhile. I like cal, but I'd like to see him loosen the chain on willis just alittle.
I agree with this, everyone makes mistakes now and then. He needs to let the kid play.

With the way this team shoots if Willis can hit around 40% of his threes from here on out he is going to play tons.

Anyone capable of hitting an outside shot is welcome to play a lot. Willis has some defensive liabilities, but so do some others. This is the downside of having teams that don't build for a future further out than the next April.

Willis certainly stepped it up when the Cats needed him to. Glad to see him making the most of his opportunities. I would like to see more of it.

Willis can give us good minutes this year as long as he continues to go full out when he is in the game. I believe he could make a valuable 7th man.

Willis has the tools to PUT UK PLAYING AT A VERY HIGHER LEVEL. jUAT HOPE HE USES THEM TO GET MORE MINUTES.`

Every game that Bilas does he mentions that Willis would start on about every team UK plays. He just can't seem to get many minutes for us. If he runs down the floor wrong he is jerked out of the game while others can get away with much more. He will never get many minutes here.

You all must of watched another game or another Willis this season. When the game was still possible to win or at least come back, he couldn't hit his shots. His shooting form looks really odd, rushed and with with this flipping motion that looks more like a prayer than a nice set shot. I read in the beginning of the season they tinkered with his shooting and I think they have messed him up. He used to have a shot that looked good even though he sometimes missed but the form looked good. Now, it doesn't.

If willis plays big minutes, we are in big trouble. It look like we are in fact in trouble so I look for him to play lots.

Seems like Cal holds Willis,Poy, & Dom to a higher standard. Maybe it's because they're older. Those with a "higher ceiling" seem to get a longer leash. Every one can't be a lock down stopper on defense but can make up for it on the other end......Do the 40 math on Willis.......WOW
Needs enough time to work up a rhythm. IMO

No doubt Cal is always looking for a reason to pull Willis. He adds more positives than some others. He can handle pass and finish. If he would quit rushing his funky jumper he could really help us.

Willis will not get meaningful minutes until he shows up on somebody's draft board.
damn you nailed that one. That's the magic ticket to playing time. Willis needs every shot he takes to fall, dunk ALOT, get steals that lead to dunks, block 1 shot a half, rebound 5 offensive rebounds with two putback dunks and tattoo himself 12 more times to even get a sniff at NBA draft boards.

I liked when Willis came back in, he took it to the basket, made it and got fouled. Cal stood up and applauded that play. Sometimes I think Willis feels the pressure to start popping 3 point shots when he actually hasn't gotten into the flow of the game. My advice to him is stay out of the corners, and shoot his 3 pointers from the front or wing, he's way more accurate out there.

This post is right on target. I think Willis is an interesting player who has posted some decent numbers when he gets the minutes. At least he's an offensive threat from outside 5 feet...which is more than you can say about a couple of our other 6-9 guys.

I think if they used Willis like Tubby used Padgett on the high screen pick and roll it could possibly be effective. Instead of rolling step out and hit the 3. I like that more than using Humphires like they did against UCLA?

Truth be told...may be best rebounder besides Lee on team

Per minute.........yes
Wish Cal would use the + or - formula more.
Willis will never be the defensive guy like Lee,
but his +'s would be similar per min played.
I would like to see Wilis get more of Poy's time,
maybe allowing Poy to burn more energy when he's in.
Willis is a very good back-up at PF.
