Will Wynyard ever get his chance?

A moth or so ago I posted that he was possibly returning home.
I haven't heard much in the last several weeks, but that may change.
Nope. You can't beat out Issac Humphries, you ain't beating out the multiple 5* we get every year. He does have a big body though, I'd argue he was more effective than IH last year in the post
At times WG looked like he had it figured out least year.....those times were sporadic tho.
Kid plays very hard , and can but the three ball........the biggest Improvement comes from fresh to soph year.......play hard , make that Improvement ......will make him more consistent , he can see some court time next year it what looks to be a dynamite year for the Cats.

I highly doubt he'll ever play much at UK. And it is a combination of insane talent Cal runs in here every year but it's also Tai has not shown a single skill set that could set him apart in college game.
1. He's not a crazy athlete by any means. Honestly...he sort of looks like a Dakari Johnson level athlete to me but he's 3 inches short than Dakari.
2. He's not shown to be stretch 4 that can play some pick and roll at 3pt line (like Willis developed into)
3. He's not long but more of a stocky guy...so he's not shown an aptitude to be a defensive specialist.
4. Never seem him handle or show that skill set.
He sort of looks like your typical Big 10 reserve PF that set picks all day and long and tries to grab some garbage rebounds...not exactly the kind of player we display much at all under Cal.

Wynyard played 54 minutes last season. Lol.
Also it is called a "pick and pop" when a stretch 4 slides to the 3pt. line.
In April "Tai W". himself said he arrived to UK out of shape, but he's been working really hard on his body.
I'm chalking Wynyard as a mystery because he barely played last season.
If Wynyard couldn't earn minutes on rosters disastrously short of a post presence, I don't seem him getting run when Cal's pulling in his more customary seven-footers. For God's sake, we were running Poythress at the 4/5. He looks like a smallish 3 when he's on the floor in NBA games. This is gonna sound stupid and nitpicky, but Tai's 185-lb. bench press numbers were way low for a 260-lb. bruiser. De'Aaron Fox was outlifting him. I can put up more reps than that, and I'm a soft desk worker. So I guess I'm saying he's not even really "there" as a bang in the post garbage guy.
Good for you....I'll still sit from a perspective that I don't see a unique skill set that garner's him minutes next year for sure and if we get solid PF for the next 3 years...can't see him getting much run at the level of play Cal expects.
I just got a gut feeling he will be a solid player his Jr and sr years.. I think he has the ability to rebound at a high rate.
May have just decided to get an education and go along for the ride. There are certainly worse spots to be in.
Yep. He will be a big time contributor in year 3 and 4 of playing . People need to remember this was just year 1 as he redshirted last year. I think if he left UK he would go home not to another school but he made it clear when he came here he was here for the long haul and not expecting to play for a while.
I am still baffled as to why Cal brought him here. Having said that, he is a Cat so I fully support him no matter whether he plays or not.
