Well, maybe someone will bypass the NFL and transfer to UK. Maybe Williams from USC? Let’s hold out for that possibility.
No need to wait for Williams. We can find someone better. Hehehe. Seriously though, Will has been far too inconsistent/injury plagued for us to depend on. We NEED a qb with a strong/accurate arm to pair with our receivers! Will has neither.
There seems to be a lot of smoke about him coming to Kentucky, but I’m not wild about it if he’s our Plan A for QB next year, and it makes me worried that our staff hasn’t learned anything from this year if he is. If we’re going to insist on playing a pro offense, then we need to be getting QBs who know how to run that system instead of getting spread/air raid players as senior transfers and trying to force them to do something different in their one year with us.

Agree. we'll have way better options imo.
I mean he threw for 3974 and 35 Tds last year and 4739 and 36tds the year before. And averaged 70% roughly between the two. Only injuries were this year and their Oline was terrible. Had Leach not died he probably would be the SECs leading passer again this year. And none of his injuries needed surgery unlike Leary. With the right Oline and system he we will tear it up next year too.
But we don’t have that system and don’t want to run a system that’s similar. We’d have to redo our entire philosophy. Mike Leach ain’t walking through that door (RIP).
I’m not saying I disagree. I was just stating that the previous post was inaccurate when describing him as a player. Saying he is inaccurate and injury plagued and inconsistent is simply incorrect.
Maybe inconsistent was a better way to describe him rather than inaccurate? I’m not sure to be 100% honest but I recall him being in and out of games before quite a bit? I stand corrected if not. His arm strength is also average. Also he played in the air raid until this year and we all saw how he performed this year.
The 23 season was his first in anything but an air raid type offense ever, including HS.
