Not going to dwell on the should of been targeting, but for Will to take a hit like that and remain in the game, he is one tough hombre. Players will watch that on film and their respect for him will grow even more. He is one tough hombre.

Who was the #4 UF player Levis was getting his picture taken with when they were interviewing CMS at the end of the game? Appeared to know each other.

Does anybody know the rationale for overturning the targeting call?
I thought if it was helmet to helmet contact it was automatically targeting. It definitely was . So what is it about the rule I don’t understand?
thanks in advance if you are a ref or up on the rules
why have a targeting penalty at all if you are not going to call it in that situation.

I was watching the game with my wife and said that this was a perfect example of helmet-to-helmet contact on the QB... which should be targeting. I said that they call this in order to protect the QB. Not in Gainsville, FL apparently. This was a baaaaad call. Even the announcers said that it was an obvious call. The officials should be investigated. Homer officials won here.

FWIW, the announcers tonight said that in addition to H2H the rule requires an “indicator” (of intent maybe?), such as launching. I’ve got blue tinted glasses, obviously, but the pass rusher had time to avert a H2H collision, did not, and then ground the quarterback’s helmet off his face. If the intention of the rule is to protect QBs and minimize traumatic injury, that hit has to be illegal.

Thats why having a big tough dude QBing your squad cannot be overstated.
That hit knocks “alot” of QBs out of that contest.
Levis is a STUD!

Not only that hit, but the hit directly to the side of his knee. ACL tear type stuff. Just walked it off.
It was an arm hit to the knee not helmet or shoulder. It was also a payback call for screwing us on the targeting overrule.

Why not dwell on such an egregious injustice? They are a dirty team that always pulls this crap and the ref's/league protect them almost every time.
That wasn’t a dirty hit. It was a solid stick. It was the same hit our kid knocked Tebow out with a few years back but from the front this time. But within the rules of todays game I thought it would have been called targeting. I hate the targeting call 90 percent of the time and maybe I don’t understand it. But I thought it was a foul to hit a defenseless player in the face and head area.

But fortunately they gave us a sweet makeup call later on the absolutely bullshit roughing the passer call when the dude was grabbing at Levi’s legs. I’ll take it though
