about the rampant academic fraud that went on under Ol Roy's watch?

Hopefully the exposure brought about by this UNC win will prompt the media to expose the blatant cheating that has gone on there. I won't hold my breath.:mad::mad:

UNCHEAT won and the brothers ncaa and espn got what they wanted...you will never hear another word about this after tonight.

The national media has reported on it, it's ESPN and investigative sports journalists that bend over backwards to investigate anything Calipari and UK related that have been bizarrely quiet about the entire AFAM fake degree scandal from the very beginning.

If there is any human decency left in the world, and I'm beginning to wonder if there is, this CHEAT championship will bring strong media focus onto this shameless scandal and the way the NCAA has (not) handled it. If this doesn't raise pressure for severe NCAA action, college basketball is dead.

It's dead. College basketball died a long time ago. Only fans of basketball schools haven't realized it yet. Even the biggest basketball games doesn't out draw an average football game anymore.

That's why football has been driving conference expansion.

i still firmly believe nothing will be done to UNC. But after their games were officiated in such a way as to almost guarantee them a title throughout the tourney I can't help but wonder if an agreement was reached to help them win the title this year to help soften the blow of having two of their titles removed ('05, '09). I know that's pretty far out there but that's how blatantly favorable the officiating was in their last FOUR tournament games against Ark, UK, Oregon, and Gonzaga.

Eh, this is overplayed. College football was always the money maker. College basketball is how the NCAA makes the cash.

Doubtful. They've all taken the approach of this too shall pass.

I don't blame them.

That's just not true. Football started taking over sometime in the early 90's. Before then, it was all basketball all the time.

Football has gained popularity but it's also losing it in small numbers every year. Since ive been born at least college football has been more popular than college basketball. Down south for sure. To be honest, sports in general aren't as popular as most people think. Ask random people who won the super bowl or World Series last year, most won't be able to tell you.

I don't know how old you are, but if you were alive in the 80's, that was the last great decade where basketball was more popular than football. But now, football is definitely more popular.

In a bizarre sort of way, I was thinking/hoping the same thing.
