I started my day at 4:00 am taking my wife to work at the local Hospital, "E-town area got around 20 inches of snow by the way". A semi truck thought the back roads would be clear to make a delivery, " LOL" and got stuck blocking both lanes mostly. I was able to get around him and the car that was stuck in a ditch trying to do what I did in my Z71 Silverado. Got her to work and headed home, "Here's where it gets a little wild" I headed home and came across a car completely off the road with people still in it. I stopped to help and when I found out the guy had his kids in the car and was out of state and had no ideal where he was, I loaded them up to head back to town to get them to a hotel. Dropped them off, wished them well and headed home " again ". I passed the semi truck that was stuck and got almost home when I moved over to let a car get by on the clear part of the road and put myself in a ditch " DEEP " in the ditch. Couldn't pull out no matter what I did, but I saw a SUV coming and it was two cops that stopped and offered me a ride.
We got no further that 50 yards when the cop did the same thing I did and we were stuck in a ditch. A 4 x 4 stopped to try and pull the cops SUV out, but had no luck doing so. I jumped out and asked if he would give me a try and the dude pulled me right out with the help of some serious gunning of my 4 wheel drive, as I drove away I stopped and thanked the cops for helping and offered them a ride. The cop said he didn't help much and I replied, everyone stops to help a cop that's stuck and that ended up being what helped me.
I hope is that my brothers and sisters in blue had a much smoother day than myself and hope everyone stays safe. My thoughts would be stay home and out of the way of road crews. Wished the semi truck would have waited for road crews because now they can't get through....Stay home and watch basketball...Go Wildcats
