I think if we make at least one more thread about him, he'll definitely announce then.
I hope we sign him and hope he is a star, but over the years, my unscientific observation has been that the more signing day drama occurs with a player is inversely proportional to actual production by that same player once on the field.
Clemson is usually pretty good evaluating players with a few exceptions like DJ. So them wanting Wilcox makes me feel pretty decent about him.
The only "signing day drama" is with the adults that can't wait patiently for a 17 year old to announce where he's playing football next year.
"Every time a thread starts UK gets a recruit" sounds like a good tagline for a feel good Christmas movie.
Has Wilcox ever been committed to a school? I do not see this as drama. He has not been committed to UK. We want him and we were expecting him, but making a tough decision is not akin to drama. That said, I have not followed his recruitment. I like to get to know them when they commit.
DJ was legit until Dr. Pepper stepped in. Since then, it was a near debacle. He had to move on and in Kelly Bryant fashion, he did. But the guy who took his place sure looks like the real deal as far as college potential goes.
What's in Jan? There's the early signing period now thru Fri and NSD in the first week of Feb. No signing period in Jan.
Missed the interview, did he give any indication he would still be active in the portal post bowl games? Still think they'll bring in maybe 5 more guys.
He did say during the presser that they would still be active in the portal going forward. Didn't think they were done
That is always a possibility. He isn't at one of the football factories so they would have been legit with his grades and not given them to keep him eligible. He may be missing a required class to graduate even if he were able to keep his eligibility.
It’s word for word what Stoops said on KSR…January. Maybe he misspoke but I doubt it.
I would assume he's just speaking in generalities unless he's referring to just bypassing NLI and just enrolling in January for spring semester.
He doesn't have to sign a loi. Could just enroll. Or maybe make a verbal commits.

This is the answer guys. From what I've read he was planning on enrolling early. Nick Rousch (I think) said on air the kid has a unique family situation. There is something with the timeframe that just didn't work out for Wilcox. We will know in a few weeks. He is gonna be a Cat.
Stoops wouldn't have said January if he wasn't all but certain. He knows that everyone knows the next signing date is in Feb.
Right, he can enter into a financial agreement with the university and not sign a LOI(I had forgotten about that until mentioned here). Makes the whole situation more understandable.
Insiders say he is solid with UK. We will see the next few weeks
