Why we've lost games we should have won...

We play pretty well for about 75% of the game, but there is one scenario that I keep seeing that really seems to hurt us. Our guards take too many early, outside shots, when there are no rebounders under the basket...Subsequently, when this happens, our bigs stand and watch the shot instead of crashing the boards. I believe this scenario is losing us 8-10 points per game, and often giving up points on the other end as a result, creating about a 15 point swing in our opponent's favor. If we can get on the same page and lock this aspect of the game up, I believe we beat everyone we've lost to with relative ease.

We are getting better at this, but even yesterday, we got lazy in the middle of the game, and almost let Vandy come back several times. It's as simple as better shot selection and overall "team"court awareness. When these things fall into place, I think we start looking dominant.

Really the only two games that we should have won is Auburn and Ohio State but they both played well above normal against UK. UCLA was the first true road game early in the year and LSU is a talented team that they played on the road as well so those two are understandable.

Before the year I thought UK would be 16-3 at this point so they are pretty much on par record wise. They have been playing well lately so that's generating more optimism in a lot of people.

The 2 big ones are at Auburn when leading by 12 in the 2nd half and still up 2 with under 2 minutes and the Ohio State game where Kentucky should have won that one but just didn't show up in the 1st half and Ohio State played out of their mind.
