Why is there always so much negativity?

Willis should play more. Skal should play the 4. The bottom line is that we are spoiled and think we know more than the teacher! I'm not sure what Cal said to them at halftime, but that's the Kentucky team we all love to watch. Being aggressive on offense. We will be fine in the long run. Willis will get his minutes and Skal will get tougher and better!

I see you have been here for 2 full weeks, otherwise you wouldn't have to ask such a question of this board.

True. I have only posted for 2 weeks but I have followed this board for years. Just recently have I decided to post. I get as frustrated as many of you all do here in Cincinnati. This team will take a lot of time to gel compared to late year. Alot of bourbon consumed early in the year, not so much later!

Fans think that finding what's wrong makes them knowledgeable about the game , so they set out to find more problems than anybody else . It's also a chance to be right because the more crap you point out the more that can be collected for board cred later on . Meanwhile just don't show up for the plethora of ish you got wrong all year , can't lose strategy . No sarcasm , I'm dead serious and right .

If i had a nickel for every time I've seen a poster show up and say "I've followed these boards for years and years but haven't posted until now"

this really is one of those years where we will get to see the team grow, from high school stars to future pros. It can be a fun ride if you let it, and not dwell too much on what the final outcome will be. Last year's team had the potential to do something epic in the modern era. But this team is a bunch of kids just learning to play together. Fortunately, they have tremendous talent and high basketball IQs. Based on that alone, I see them making the Final Four. As we have seen repeatedly in recent years, once you get to that stage, anything can happen.

I saw some growth tonight in the 2nd haf. Loved the intensity and toughness. I hope Skal joins the fun and festivities. I think he will. He has way too much talent to not play like he is capable.

KY is one of the unhappiest states in the USA so they say. Lots of negative posts on here.

Coincidence?

meh - I read for several years before my first post, too. Gotta start somewhere.

OP - kind of a prickly question to ask, especially since you haven't actually been posting long. Hope you're ready for some of the responses.

I don't know but this thread SUCKS!

Seems like other than not posting long, he hasn't actually read much,
or watched UK play that much.

Bring it on. Seriously, I get that question all the time by people I'm around. It's like we expect perfection under Cals system? As I do also. I'm not sure it's warranted? It's the system we all have to adjust too from the previous coaches and the OAD. It's tough not knowing who is returning. ..who you can count on next year. No continuity. I think this team has a ton of potential this year. Love their guard play. If we can get some interior play and toughness it could be another exciting March.

I think we'll be fine; I anticipate a 2010-2011 type season. Right now it's quite frustrating as everyone learns their roles and defense. So far, Skal has disappointed, but I think he'll get it, eventually - he just hasn't been the player (with the personality) of our other bigs, like Boogie, WCS, Noel and Townes. He's far quieter and less assertive.

This place during a game, football or basketball, is almost insufferable. Finally I figured something obvious out. People - fans - are nervous during a game. Nervous and anxious. And that's how it manifests. Simply put, people are just venting. After I realized that, this place made more sense.

Now, there is another category of fan - the type that's not happy unless he's complaining about something. Some people are just miserable. But really, there aren't many of those....

Good point. I can't honestly say that has been me at one time. I guess I finally realized that this part of Kentucky basketball history may never be achieved again. We need to appreciate what we have. It could be alot worse.

It's not the negativity that bothers me as much as it is the ignorance. Most of the posters who want to come off as knowledgable about the game are the most clueless. I hope the ones I'm thinking about are younger people.

I agree. I go back to the early to mid 70's. I was raised listening to cawood on the radio. I maybe got to see them a couple times a year on tv in Cincinnati before the tournament. I'm starting to think it's more like a cult feeling than anything else these days? Some fans think the game is so easy!

So much negativity on this board because the majority of the posters like UK basketball but really know nothing about the game..Some of the threads and the arguments that go with them are ponderous, just ponderous and totally ignorant. I am amazed at the stupid things that are said on this site especially.
