If you had to pick one, which one of these teams will be the first to win it all?
Agree, I worked there from 2008 - 2016. 2 Rose Bowls, 1 Fiesta Bowl and 2 National Championship Games…what a fun time to work there!Oregon
It's crazy they never won one under Chip Kelly.
There are a few schools with retroactive national championships not on the list:I'm assuming we get omitted because our marketing aces decided to claim the Sagarin title??? Is it simple disrespect? Seriously. Look at that collection.
A quiet affirmation of 1950/51!!I'm assuming we get omitted because our marketing aces decided to claim the Sagarin title??? Is it simple disrespect? Seriously. Look at that collection.
There are in fact outside of Kentucky CFB media & historians who do consider UK a past National Championship winner, it isn't an invention of UK "marketing"I'm assuming we get omitted because our marketing aces decided to claim the Sagarin title??? Not to derail the thread (I agree with Oregon pick), but this has Oklahoma listed in place of UK:There are a few schools with retroactive national championships not on the list:
UK
Rutgers (1869)
Oklahoma State
Boston College
If the roles were reversed a UK would be doing the same thing. Now do I personally count UK as the National Champion no I don’t and here is why.LOL some lame Louisville fan on that Twitter thread complaining UK isn’t listed.
Kentucky is recognized by Sagarin as the national Champion from 1951. I could argue either way, but they are not on that list because of that. Not to derail the thread (I agree with Oregon pick), but this has Oklahoma listed in place of UK:
Complete list of FB champions
I'm just curious about what "official" decision there has been.
Well, then, I guess I'll just enjoy it!There are in fact outside of Kentucky CFB media & historians who do consider UK a past National Championship winner, it isn't an invention of UK "marketing"
If North Carolina can claim their Helms championships in Basketball UK fans can claim the 1951 Sagarin championship.
Oregon or Baylor, both are in sh!t conferences so they have the best odds IMO.
Wisconsin is the sneaky one here. Luke Fickell is going to win there. And they’re actually in a conference with a chance to get into the playoff.I'd say Utah, Wisky, Oregon....
Disagree, TCU is proof of the conference's strength. I realize they weren't officially the conference champion but the ones in charge felt they conference's best.
TCU only played 4 power five teams that finished the season with a winning record before playing their conference championship game. I stand by my comment.
PAC 12 much easier path to a title gameOregon or Utah
UCF is already a big 12 selectee...they begin in FB this fall along with BYU, Houston and Cinci. If I had to pick one I would pick UCF. They were undefeated 13-0 in 2017 and 12-1 the following year. Since then they still hover around 9 or 10 wins a season. I look for Knights to be picked up by the ACC or B12 in the near future with all the shuffling and being in the middle of a talent rich state I see them making the jump to the playoffs at some point. Also Miami, UF, and FSU are not the elite programs they once were which further opens the door for UCF to move up.
Thanks, I love being right 😁UCF is already a big 12 selectee...they begin in FB this fall along with BYU, Houston and Cinci.
GBB!
