Over the last several years we've seen some perennial contenders go somewhat flat (Michigan, Notre Dame, Florida, and others). Some are still languishing, while others seem to be experiencing a resurgence to original status. A LOT of the highlights, games and fan boards show some real arrogance from those recently-struggling teams' fans. Are there any particular fanbases you can't stomach right now?

Deserving or otherwise? Auburn. Hands down. And it reaches well beyond sports. Their cult-like academic indoctrination through use of the "Auburn Creed" is the most undeserving, sanctimonious, self-righteous, vomit-inducing, L. Ron Hubbard-esque brainwashing BS I've likely ever witnessed outside of Jonestown. I'm convinced they offer classes in connoisseurship of one's own farts.

"If you don't work with a Auburn grad, you likely work for one." Barf.

Now this is a response. . . more than I was expecting. Well done.

Tennessee and Florida if we're sticking to the SEC. Both melt down when anyone takes them to the wire and bemoan every facet of the program when they lose.

If UK had pulled out the victory against UF, you'd be able to see the mob surrounding McElwain's house from the ISS. They think they are incredible programs, and to FLORIDA'S credit, they used to be.

Tennessee, however, thinks they are gifts to the SEC. They aren't. It's starting to settle in for them that they may not be as good a team as they hoped to be. Loads of them are calling for Butch's head. It's a lot like watching a ritualistic sacrifice... But in digital form and with a lot less blood.

Tennessee....they are still living in the 90's. That stretch between 95 and 99, the Manning years and subsequent National Championship (which required several miracles and playing a FSU team with a 3rd string QB) completely brainwashed a fan base. Historically Tennessee is a winning program. Typically,
they win 7-9 games. Looking at the 70's, 80's they were an average program. They think they are Alabama.
They're favorite cliche is "get back to where we belong". I could go on with examples forever. Living here is great, especially after that meltdown over the Florida loss yesterday.

My friends in Tennessee will tell you that it's the Vols.

My brother who lives in Texas will certainly say it is UT. They could not believe that they had to "settle" for Charlie Strong, they are Texas, we will just go out and hire whoever we want, Nick Saban, Brian Kelly, Urban Meyer, it doesn't matter.

Been around quite a few fan bases and the Vols take the cake. ND is a close second but they have had more success in the past. I do know closet ND fans come out of the woodwork if they think they are doing well like when they played for the title and got dog stomped. You saw what you thought was cat fans coming out of the closet dressed in green.

OTIS thinks they are more entilted than all the teams you mentioned. Don't think so just ask them...football and bb.

Texas was who I was gonna go with. 1 title since integration but think the game of football starts and ends with them.

Alabama fans are by far the worst of the bunch. It really infuriates me when they claim to be Alabama football fans and then piggyback off out basketball team. They, for the most part, are the most obnoxious idiots I have ever been around. My two best friends are Alabama fans and they are about the only normals I know.

This, Bama fans feel they invented the game. The last time they were on serious probation, they all cried they just want a level playing field. They overlooked the fact they were on probation for paying 200K for a lineman out of Memphis. They claim 16 national championships, part of them awarded by a random sports trivia guy who gave them 2 30 years after the season when they lost a couple of games. They got a couple when they were awarded before bowl games, which they lost. 1 is from an random organization that made one poll and quit. They have won quite a few, 8 or 9, for real and are one of the top teams ever. But them claiming all the bogus ones is BS. The latest example of their arrogance is wanting to march on the SEC office in protest because the officials didn't call a lineman downfield on Ole Miss. Of all teams, that has been protected by the SEC officials for years, going over 2 years without a holding call, big plays of other teams nullified by a questionable call and one goes against them. I don't think Bama cheats like they use to, except when its going head to head against Auburn, because they don't have to anymore.

They are a great program and I expect us to get woodshedded this weekend because they are built to stop pro style offense and that's what we are, mobile qbs give them fits and we don't have one. We will have trouble moving the ball and scoring, unless they give us 5 turnovers, then I like our chances.

Most deserving of being extremely entitled: Alabama. They honestly expect to win the NC every year. Runner up: USC. They are a "fire the coach after every loss"-type of program

Most entitled without even the slightest bit of reason to be entitled: South Carolina. Truly, a preposterous level of expectation for such a mediocre program. They have a big stadium. That's it. Very poor bowl record and few bowl appearances overall. Runners up: Cal, a rougher and more demanding fan base than you'd expect for a team that recruits very well and does nothing.

Most entitled for having done very little on the national stage in awhile (in other words, the most obnoxious): Tennessee--only two national titles in their program's history, but their fans act they've won 20. Runners up: Michigan

Least entitled: Great programs, slightly more realistic expectations, extremely loyal fan bases: Oklahoma (lots of second places, but nobody really wants Stoops gone), Georgia (think Tennessee would have kept Richt that long?), Texas A+M (rain or shine their fans are great).

Programs quickly becoming the most insufferable because of their recent success: Auburn, Ohio State, Notre Dame

Programs faded (or fading) into irrelevance that were once national powers: Virginia Tech, Nebraska, Colorado, Washington, Texas, Miami

I think a lot of people make assumptions about auburn that simply are just false.

Go to a game at jordan-hare and tell me the auburn fans weren't the most welcoming visiting fans you have encountered.

Living in Birmingham, they really aren't that bad at all.

My wife and I went to school, worked and lived in B'ham from early 90's until just a few years ago. From Terry Bowden thru Chizik. Couldn't disagree more with your take. They are an insufferable collection of pseudointellectual wannabe elitists whom, ironically, spend their time pounding their chests about how redneck, toothless and backward their own next-door neighbors and kinfolk are based on their support of any other program. They are a thin-skinned crowd of screaming, attention-seeking stepchildren that demand undue respect and display the worst of the little brother mentality. And that's just the women.

BTW- I wouldn't set foot in 'Jerdin'Hayar' if my seat came filled with $20 bills. That kind of filth doesn't wash off.

Can't believe no one has mentioned the Ville fan base.

This. You have to live in the city to realize it (because they don't really have fans anywhere else), but UL fans are 100% convinced they are on the same level as LSU and Bama and OSU and get offended if you disagree. You can't even say they are a good program.... if you aren't in-line with the Jurich-speak of them being 100% top-tier, then you are wrong and you are their enemy. It's really pathetic.

I would say ul because they think winning in crappy conferences should get them national respect. It doesn't. They struggle to beat average power 5 teams.

They're on a collision course with the National Championship. The only variable is eternity...

There are quite a few UK, Duke, and Kansas basketball fans that do the exact same thing and are "fans" of our football program.

I agree. I have loved in alabama most of my life and Auburn fans are generally very good.

Oregon fans. I lived among them for many years while the team was horrible, I mean we're talking sub UK football bad. Then all the Nike money came pouring in and they had fantastic facilities built. The program moved upward and the bandwagon fans suddenly appeared in droves. The attitude of the Oregon fans was that they were suddenly the greatest program in America. They forgot the many horrible years like they didn't exist and acted like they were the kingpins of college football, all while they have never won a thing, zero national titles. All that Nike money got them close in recent years with a couple of championship game appearances but still couldn't buy them a title. Being in the middle of those fans for years really made see how obnoxious and elitist so many of them could be.

Ohio state wins the award for most obnoxious. You could say..I really like that scarlet color, and they would say..well it's not as scarlet as THE ohio state's scarlet.

I cannot believe Im saying this, but i think its schools like UF who has had a few years of success here and there..and now they do believe they are entitled to everything..(and I do think it also goes to the fact supposely someone from UF founded gatoraid) but anyways...I think its UF and other schools who have one two year hit wonders, etc..

Living around Oregon fans in Portland, can confirm.

I heard enough Ohio State banter whilst in college to make me never, ever have a positive thought about the place "The Ohio State University" has some of the rudest, most pretentious, obnoxious fans of any sports program in this United States.
But, that's just me.
