If you could have/had any UK recruiting class for all 4 years, which would you want?
(the year represents the FR season for that class, NOT the HS graduation yr)
10: Wall, Cousins, Bledsoe, Orton, Hood
11: Knight, Jones, Lamb, Poole
12: Davis, MKG, Teague, Wiltjer
13: Noel, Goodwin, WCS, Poythress
14: Randle, Young, Aaron H, Andrew H, Johnson, Lee, Hawkins, Willis
15: Towns, Lyles, Booker, Ulis
16: Murray, Briscoe, Labissiere, Matthews, Humphreys
17: Adebayo, Fox, Monk, Gabriel, SKJ, Wynyard
18: Knox, SGA, Washington, Vanderbilt, Richards, Green, Diallo
19: Johnson, Quickley, Herro, Montgomery, Baker*
I don't think there is a clear cut answer, and that you could make a case for almost any of the 10 groups. I might lean slightly toward 15.
10: 2 studs, 1 other really good player, and a nice complementary player backing up your foul prone stud
11: 3 really good player, but this might be the weakest group
12: 1 stud, 1 really good player, and 2 good players. Yes they won the championship, but also had the most returning of Cal's teams in Miller, Jones & Lamb
13: hard to define this group between injuries and slower development than some. But a frontline of Noel, WCS and Poythress would be hard to score against in years 2-4
14: deepest group, all 8 contributed at UK, but only 1 star player.
15: tied for the smallest group (4), but even the 4th guy was an All-American as a Soph.
16: Like 13 this group at first look isn't as impressive, but I think Cal would have figured out how to play Skal the last 3 years, and we saw that Matthews is a decent player.
17: 3 really good players with a nice balance in this group
18: 2nd deepest group (or tied for deepest if you count Baker here), and the most balanced. Not a stud, but I think by years 2-4 this group could be the best, they wouldn't even need other players, and it's believable that any of the 7 become really good players
19: Maybe on bottom of the list, but it's tougher to project since we've not seen them play yet. Also if Hagans comes that would help. But from what I've read, KJ, IQ and TH all have the right mindset coming in to be a really good group.
