When will we see a TE get involved?

I really thought last week against UF we would see at least a few attempts to the TE, but didn't happen. I hate to see our TEs not get involved at all in the passing game. Will it be this week or is our OL in such desperate need of help that our TEs can only be used as blockers?

Probably today.

Combination of need for extra blocker, young TE unable to master chip and release, and lack of trust with Towles throwing over middle of field. One should get better, one may get better, the other looks like it will never get better

TE is always envolved. I believe you mean as a receiver, and that depends on our front line. I too would love to see some quick 5-8 yard tosses to the TE. Some of those out in front dive catches for easy yards like FL did against us.

Is that the tide end I've been reading about. I've been a bit surprised that we haven't seen it used much. Often as the OL is getting beat a screen to the TE might be a natural. Just pass block, get beat and then slip out. We've been pretty good at the first two parts.

As we saw last week those olinemen need a little help every now and then. He'll get his chances, just might not be until the oline gets things figured out. NOBODY can get a pass thrown to them if the QB is on his back.

Being that he is staying in and blocking almost every time, he is the perfect option to block and release every now and then for a quick hit.

The answer is whenever Dawson decides he wants to use a TE in the formation.

As I noted in the "Tide Ends" thread in the first halves against SC and FL UK ran 68 plays and only 12 times did they have a "true" (i.e., attached) TE in the formation.

Peace

Wow. that is a ridiculous that stat. how do you even recruit a tight end who wants to catch the ball when your office only has him in a pass catching situation 15% of the time. that's very disheartening.
