6 or 7 games ago he tipped it out of bounds, but I think he is better at getting the tip than Davis was.

I believe in the past 2 or 3 games he lost the tip. It is the only time I recall him not getting it in quite a few games.

Lol we were so bad at this last season.

Willie never came down with them so Cal started Lee solely to win the tip. Then that failed and he went back to Willie until he started coming off the bench at the end of the season. Randle was poor at this as well.

He got the tipoff in the Georgia and Arkansas games. I didn't double check back any further

I think UK has lost the tip once in the past couple of weeks. I just remember saying "Wow, we din't win the tip. That never happens."

Good observation, OP. We do seem to get the tip most every time now. Moreover, we seem to score on our first possession more often than not.

Obviously, winning the tip is more than about height, reach and leaping ability. It is more about timing and basketball savvy. KAT has both in spades (not saying that WCS doesn't, of course). Some people just have the knack for it and some done.

KAT also seems to tip it to the same spot every time, and it seems Andrew is right there to get it every time. In a close game, this is one additional possession that could be the difference between winning and losing.

I just went back and watch the tips for the last few games. LSU was the last team to win the tip against us and that was 7 games, so close enough.

Really a flip of the coin IMO. If you don't get the tip, you get the ball to start the 2nd half.

So essentially, you could start the game with a toss in since it means so little.

I'm pretty sure that's not how it works.

That's incorrect

I have been trying to keep a mental note of the tips this season. I actually only recall losing one. There may have been more, but I don't remember it.
