It seems that Kemp was producing better results than anyone. So the hot hand or feet wins.
Boom can't pick up the blitz, and Kemp is our best pass blocker. Without our left tackle they needed help on that side so Kemp gets the call and comes through both in protection and running the ball.
You know there wasn't anything wrong with him.... They probably keyed on him when he was in the game.... These were the type of post that were made about Towles last week.... There is nothing wrong with him.....Didnt get many carries if any second half. Was he hurt or were they just staying with Kemps hot hand? Anyone heard anything?
Boom never returned after missing a massive block allowing PT to take a big sack
O. And jojo was crazy second half
Yeah I heard that on the post game show . Hopefully he learned a lesson tonight , you gotta do more than just run the ball .To add some drama to the boom situation, he was the first player to head to the locker room after the game. As soon as towles started to celebrate with the rest of the team and the clock expired, he jogged to the locker room all by his self and didn't celebrate AT ALL, WELL ahead of ANYONE on the sideline including managers ball boys and anyone else that heads that way after a game.
How about Kemp going airborne for that first down? Probably my favorite play of the game.
AgreeJoJo came in and ran hard and downhill. You have to keep him out there when he is running like that. Without Jo we don't win that game tonight.
The difference between our backs is interesting.
-Horton has power to run over people and patience to set up his blocks
-Boom has the speed and vision. He's more apt to bounce outside and run for space
-Kemp is North/South and runs just plain angry.
If you could combine all 3 you'd win the Heisman.
During the long 12 game season, we will need all 3, plus King. I agree with those who think Jo Jo got the call yesterday because he is the best blocker. Our left tackle was on the bench with an injury, and Missouri's pass rush was killing us before Jo Jo came in to chip Missouri's end. I doubt this will have a big impact on future assignments and snaps, but Jo Jo clearly was 1of the stars of yesterday's game. Mosier also gets a shout out. Contrary to the cheese we hear from detractors, Dawson called a solid game yesterday. The difference between our backs is interesting.

Did Boom miss more than one blitz? The one I saw him missed would have been missed by most backs. The Mizzou player made a quick cut between two linemen and was clear before Boom had a chance to see him. Did I miss something else? I hope he does it every game. That's what a really football player does...fights for every yard and does everything in his power to get the first down. That was the dumbest play of the game. I hope he never does that again.

Jumps six feet in the air unnecessarily exposing himself to injury?
You risk getting injured every time you step on the field. Would you have been ok with him letting up and be 2 yards short and we had to punt late with the game on the line?
That's football. You must have been a cheerleader....nothing wrong with that, though. Not a big deal, but just not a fan of a player leaving his feet in that manner. Just a risk reward issue. There's a reason it's not allowed in the NFL (I think). Do you think Stoops would want him trying to pick up an extra yard that way? Possible I suppose.
