When people behind you lean forward and with high pitched voices have the family reunion DURING THE GAME in your ear.
I could not concentrate on the game but hearing about Molly and the kids and someone who was a resident, and one who was a card dealer at a casino and kept women from making stupid bets etc. all comments not sports related but family reunion type nonsense that had nothing whatsoever to do with football. Even on third down situations they ignored the game and talked as they were in their living room or den about family matters . Totally ignoring the game. Why do people pay good money to come to football games and do that when they should be cheering for the Cats?

Thank God they left midway through the second quarter .

After I told my wife I couldn't follow the game but for the incessant clatter in my ear she threatened me if I said anything. What would you have done if anything .?Not like I could have them kicked out got being drunk. They were stone cold sober just annoying and distracting and loud .

Lou, you were not thinking... When we hit on one of those TD's you simply jump up with your arms raised holding a large coke that slips out your hand over your shoulder and into the loud mouth's lap. She makes her husband leave because she is drenched and you apologize profusely as they walk out.

You should have paid more attention, Molly is a very nice lady and one of her sons is going to be an All American Linebacker one day.

Or maybe a card dealer.

We have the "DEEEEFFFEENCE guy" behind us now. He use to be in front and on the other side of the section in years past!! Now he is very irritating! Everyone around was just starring at him.

I'm sticking with the coke...
Brian,
Great idea. However I think what I will do next game is stand and cheer the whole game. They won't notice since they don't watch the game anyway.and I'll be farther away from their voices .
If anyone does complain my doctor has told me standing is better for my back than sitting and I'll have my lawyer ready to hit them with an ADA complaint.

Lou, I am sorry the young group of fans that used to sit behind me are now behind you. Exact same thing happened to me last season when about 5 or 6 late 20 somethings (who were drunk as hell, by the way) talked non stop LOUDLY right in my ear the whole first and 2nd quarter about absolutely nothing of consequence, certainly nothing pertaining to the game on the field. They finally got bored and left right before half, was happy as I could be when they did not return.

I don't get it. Is the guy trying to encourage the section to join him in chanting "DEEEFFFEEENCE" or does everyone just find it irritating that he's yelling in the first place?

He has been doing it for several years. And everyone around us would find it irritating, EVERYONE! He kinda has a singing tone when he yells it too.........and he is loud. Now I believe in yelling, cheering and getting excited, but what he is doing shouldn't be legal! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

So he's a one trick pony, huh? I can see where that would be annoying if he's just hollering the same thing all game; game after game.

Not really the same, but speaking of guys with "go to" yells in a certain tone, there was a guy who was in the section I grew up in that would yell "Turnover Time!" really loud and slow at certain times when UK was on D. Maybe I'm misremembering, but it seems like he could predict it more often than not; maybe that's why I've come to yell it myself every once and awhile (though without great results).
