What was the 15-yard penalty call ...

Personal foul for roughing the passer I believe? Which was a bunk call, since he became a "live" player when he initiated a UK player on a block.

Our dude hit Will Grier when he was turned the other way (after Grier tried to lay a block of sorts himself).

Questionable call.

If it was a TE or a running back that would have never been called. That was one of the very bad calls by them. Oh well. UK still stopped them on that drive, although field position would have been a lot better had they stopped them at the one like it was.

The call was for the late hit that occurred after the whistle. Grier tried to block while the play was live. The hit there was fine but Grier was hit after the play was dead by a second player. There are no "live' players when the ball is dead.

Garbage call, we would have had them 3rd and 20 on their own 1. Could have been a game-changing penalty (not that we would ever expect to get one call at home against Florida).

The play was not blown dead when he hit him.

Again there are two hits. The first was Grier attempting to block when the play was live. After those two were disengaged and Taylor was on the ground (dead ball), a second player hit Grier.

The penalty was for a dead ball foul unnecessary roughness.

That was the call whether you want to acknowledge it or not. However, the refs did make up for it when they threw a flag against UK for roughing the passer later in the game and then picked it up and said, never mind...
I know what the call was. But the hit wasn't late like previously said and the QB turned himself into a blocker.

The officiating crew was pretty poor. At one point they walked off a penalty in the wrong direction, then to correct placed the ball back at the original end play spot (didn't assess the penalty) finally to replay the down because the penalty couldn't be assessed from the end of the return.

They were all over the place. We couldn't score anyways so it didn't matter.

It was the right call. He hit him "after the whistle blew". I had to watch the replay to confirm it.

on the play when the Florida RB was tackled for a big loss at their goal line?
A complete and total BS call. If Henderson had really laid Grier out I might understand that call being made but that was not the case. The contact was minor, barely causing Grier to fall to his knees, so how is that unnecessary roughness?

The call was unnecessary roughness for the second hit on Grier. As the previous poster pointed out, Grier made himself a live player when he elbowed in to throw the block. The penalty was not called on that play when our defensive player hit Grier. The penalty was called after Tayler was tackled for the loss and then Grier was hit again. Was it a close call...sure. Was it a bad call? I don't believe so.

Grier actually knocked our guy down, it was a bad call.
You're focused on the wrong part of the play. That part was legal and was not called. After Taylor was tackled, a second defender came and hit Grier. That is where the flag came in.

Again, upon further review Stoops submitted this call to the SEC offices as crap. I am sure he has a ton more angles and camera views than those of us.

Read the post that I responded to, he said Grier tried to block and I said HE DID block our guy which made him eligible to be hit. The TV announcers were all over it being a bad call.

I thought Jessie and Brent were looking at the wriong thing too. They kept commenting on the original hit and not the second hit. My point was the second hit was after the play was dead. I don't think it was a clear cut penalty, and could have gone either way.

I see what you mean, but on the replay it didn't look like the play was that much over. It was like bam bam. The TV guys like I said, said it was a very bad call in their opinion and after watching it again I agree.

Regardless, rather than being what, 3rd and a lot from the 1, they were 1st and 10 from the 16. A very "fortunate" play for Florida.

GO CATS
