Help a big blue brotha out. I asked this a few days ago and got no response so if anyone would kindly enough post those attending BBM I would owe you one. TIA

Here's who I have read that will be attending:
  • Marques Bolden
  • Harry Giles
  • De’Aaron Fox
  • Malik Monk
  • Sacha Killeya-Jones (commit)
  • Trae Young (2017)
  • Kris Wilkes (2017)
That's who has made it public they will be attending... no idea if anyone else will be attending that hasn't made it known.

Rawle Alkins coming too, unless he's nixed it which I haven't heard about.
I thought I remember hearing that Alkins was expecting to attend BBM as of a couple months ago and then something came up to where it was likely he wouldn't come... I tried finding an article about it just now but couldn't find anything on it, so maybe I'm not remembering right... I hope he does come though--I really like his game.

Thanks guys I appreciate the info. Are dudes like thon maker not gonna be there, have we given up on him on purpose?

About 5 minutes ago KSR made a post about each of the BBM recruiting attendees. No mention of Alkins on there... so maybe something did happen?

Borzello tweeted a few days ago shooter Gary Trent Jr. will attend but haven't seen that anywhere else.

It did come out a couple months ago that Alkins wouldn't make it. Also, Gabriel had planned to come but he isn't anymore. Someone else mentioned Trent Jr. as well.

Hopefully, Kris Wilkes will pan out as a Top 20 talent in 2017, because this could be the guy that breaks our true SF jinx.

Elite small forwards have become the eye candy of the NCAA season, but little more once the tourney comes around. They're somewhat unnecessary to winning a national title. Winslow and MKG have been two of the recent exceptions (and Winslow played the 4 spot anyway) but for every one MKG, there's a Niles Giffey, Luke Hancock, or Kyle Singler out there playing the 3 spot as a spot-up shooter on a national title team or a Jeremy Lamb slipping from the 2 spot over to the 3 to form a three guard lineup.

UK just isn't the place for elite three men for some reason. If we land one, fine. If not, it's certainly not going to hurt our Final Four chances.

I agree with you 100%, but I just get tired of the teeth-gnashing over our SF misses. No one worried about it until we missed on a guy in Wiggins that every thought we had in the bag early in his recruitment. Getting him didn't really help KU's championship aspirations though.

I just want to derail that perception once and for all.

Agreed. Cal will get some before he's done. He was really close on Oubre, Brown, and Bridges. Could have easily went the other way with all three.

The only one I really, really coveted outside of Wiggins was Jonathan Isaac. Love his length and versatility. It's a shame knowing Hamilton will misuse his skills.

I disagree with this, I don't think a good sf is any less valuable than the other spots. Did you forget about Deandre Daniels?

I'm perfectly comfortable with the idea of a Murray/Matthews rotation at the 3.

Name one college team with a stronger rotation at that position next year.

Add 2018 PG Darius Garland to the Madness vistors.

When I saw this post, I wanted to respond with "Huh- is that a picture of him from when he was 12?". Because I hadn't heard of this kid, and in all seriousness, he could pass for 12, at least facially. But researching a tiny bit, he's close to the top 10 in the 2018 class, and has put on some great performances in heavyweight settings like the EYBL and USA Basketball camps. All while looking like he's 12. If he grows, he has huge potential, and even if he doesn't, he could be Tyler Ulis 2.0.

My point is that while the position is important, landing an elite athlete to play the 3 is not necessary. I wouldn't call Hancock or Singler insignificant (as both were enormously important in the Final Four) but I also wouldn't call either of them an athletic forerunner to Jaylen Brown or Andrew Wiggins. You don't need an ultra- athletic, tea-bag-the-opponent 6'7" to 6'9" three man to win a national title. Are they nice to have? Absolutely.

And no, I didn't forget Daniels. He actually started at the 4 spot for the 2014 Huskies, right beside Giffey.

He might grow. Here is his father (6'2" ex-NBA player).

Petty is joining the attendees. He's one 2017 player who has consistently said great things about UK. Will be harder to get out of Alabama with better in-state recruiters there but imo is a kid who is one of the most gettable in his class.

2018 Darius Garland from Brentwood Academy says he is coming. Sounds like 2017 Wendell Carter wanted to but won't make it.

Good. I like the fact the staff appears to be getting involved earlier with high-profile targets than in the past. Also tells me Cal will be around a few more years.

Even if Giles doesn't come here, it's nice to see how excited he is to atleast visit...

Nice, thanks for posting that tweet JFCats22. Carter is a stud and I'm glad he will be making it tonight after all. Lots of big name recruits at BBM tonight!

Mix tape for anyone who is unfamiliar (keep in mind he is 16).

Would absolutely love for Cal to land him. Some say he is the best high school player right now, regardless of age.

However, must think he is a lock to go to Duke.

I would not count Cal out for Giles, I know Duke is supposed to be a lock but I think Cal really wants him and it wouldn't shock me if he gets him.
