Look at this excerpt from the AP's recap of today's game:

No. 1 Kentucky pulled away from Florida 67-50 on Saturday to complete the storied program's first unbeaten regular season.

This idiot's records must not run back past 1955 !

Can you believe that the AP has such a FOOL on the payroll -- much less letting him / her actually write something for publication ?

Incredible !

ESPN's research/stats department messes up on this stuff all the time as well. People are lazy...it is the weekend and they are at work and half assing things.

UK actually has had TWO undefeated regular seasons in its history. Can anyone name the other team? I know Mr. Scott can if he comes along.

Also, this is from the ESPN article about today's win over florida :

"Towns, who missed last month's matchup in Gainesville with strep throat...."[/B]

wow, I didn't know KAT had strep too ! In fact, I even could've sworn I saw him play in the Florida game.

Gee whiz !

9 games from now, that writer can say "Kentucky is the first team to have an undefeated season... ever!"

Won't mind that mistake.

Without looking it up to see the year, I think we went 9-0 way back in one of our first 10 or 15 years as a program.

I looked it up and it was 1912, our 10th season, when we did in fact finish the season 9-0. By beating Gtown College twice, Central University twice, Vandy twice, Miami OH, UT and Lexington YMCA. What a year that was.

And won a thriller against Georgetown College 19-18 in the final game to complete the 9-0 mark. They outscored opponents 31-15 on average each game.

I know the length of the season, competition, etc, was different, but still, undefeated. It counts.
