Apparently he did hold him out of the blue/white game because he wanted to be convinced he was ready.
Then Calipari was informed after the fact, recently, that he would not be eligible pending the NCAA's ruling.
The wording of the press release was interesting - very clearly coming from UK Athletics rather than the basketball program. It's a good thing they had this realization before the exhibition game because it could have run into an NCAA issue.
Does make me wonder some about the communication between the basketball program and athletic department.
