It means everything in the terms on one game, and nothing in terms of big picture.

2010-2011: UNC beats us amid a rather favorable whistle at their place. In the tournament, Liggins sent them home on a 3 point bomb to advance to the final four.

2011-2012: Indiana beats us at their home with a last second shot and makes popcorn boxes to commemorate it. In the tournament, we hang over 100 on them, so they made rings to commemorate it.

2015-2016: Kansas needs OT and a very favorable whistle to avoid going 200-10 at home. In the tournament: ???

Do you see what I'm saying? Put this game on a neutral court, and you see different results. Does it smart? Sure it does. Does it mean much to our titles chances? I think it actually helps. That's the most hostile environment most of these players will ever see. Playing anywhere else is a relief.

They say this team hasn't been as close as previous ones. Go through a game like this, see your leader Ulis leave everything he's ever had on the court, and you might just see some camaraderie build.

As for Ulis with the last possession in a tie game... Unfortunate. But there isn't another human being on earth id rather have with that ball, so you just have to live with it. Poor guy was running out of gas.

We'll be fine. I think this will actually make us better and more dangerous come tournament time. I won't call it a "good loss" but I will call it a game with a lot of teachable moments, and we won't see a crowd anything like that in the NCAAs. GO BIG BLUE!!!

Would love to see us as the 3 seed and KU as the 2 in Louisville.

That won't happen though as Oklahoma is almost certainly going to get the 1 seed in Louisville.

Oh, for sure. They want us square on the other side of the bracket... how about we play that game in the Yum center in March, Kansas? HA

I have said this many times, but again, IMO, UK will not be allowed to play in Louisville. It is far too easy for the committee to justify putting us in one of the other regions at this point.

I agree with the OP. Neutral court, advantage UK Sat. night. It probably means an advantage in March as well, although the game will still be a challenge as both UNC and IU were (for a great deal of the game for IU anyways).

Actually, Norman is only 37 miles close to Louisville than Chicago. So hopefully they send Oklahoma to the Midwest bracket. North Carolina to the East and Villanova to the South as the 1.

I'd love to see a Louisville bracket with this:

1. Villanova (always overrated and will lose to an 8 seed)
2. Kansas (probably lose in 2nd round to a 7 or 10)
3. Kentucky (door wide open for us to waltz on to Houston)

Love this post. You just need to correct the dates on the last game. It's 2016.
Also, IIRC, Terrence Jones took a nap just before gametime of the 2010 UNC game and he played the game in La La Land. That didn't help us at all.
