Quote from Vin Pastore that didn't make it into the story: "Everybody is rooting for him. It's refreshing when someone that talented does that well in the classroom. He doesn’t have a bit of arrogance in him. He's somebody everybody roots for."

A kid with so much talent that is also good in the classroom. You would think a player with so much talent would also be a lil cocky. I guess confidence and cockiness are totally different mindsets.

This kid is a class act. Can't wait to see how much he improves this year. No one outworks him.

This kid is the best looking kid that I've seen since AD... I think he's better at this point than either KAT, or Cousins... JMO

And cal pulls yet another high character elite talent. Under talked about aspect of his recruiting here.

It's laughable how many people bash Cal... No one outside of Kentucky fans are talking about Wenyens 3.6 and other off the court success. They just look for a way to bash Kentucky every chance. Crazy

Maybe. BUT, Towns and Cousins both outweighed Gabriel by 40-50 pounds at the same stage. Towns and Cousins were 5s all along. Gabriel is not, and will not be, a 5. That doesn't mean Gabriel won't become a dominant player. But there are reasons why Towns and Cousins both received elite prospect rankings, whereas Gabriel is a little bit more of a late bloomer. This is not in any way a slight to Gabriel, I just think you may be forgetting how good Cousins and Towns were for us.

True, he reminds me more of AD, but I just didn't want to go there.. He has a better shot than either of those mentioned at this stage, and seems like a rim blocker... He can run and handle the ball, because he grew fast like Davis did.... I hate to say this is another clone, because Davis, as Cal says, will be the best player in the world.... So, this young kid looks like a recruit that Cal loves.... He don't have the bulk of Cousins, or Towns.. Even Towns had to learn to stay low in order to defend in the middle... He can roam the lane like AD and WCS and make it tough on the shooters... Plus, he has a great shot from the outside.. As good as the Center that we have this year..
