Well here's how I feel about tonight's game.

I'm euphoric about the game in its entirety.
In the 2009-10 season, early in conference play against South Carolina, an undefeated Kentucky team that would eventually have 3 high caliber NBA players, 2 of which would be the best at their position, lost because South Carolina got on an incredibly hot shooting night.
Tonight looked a lot like that night, Ole Miss had all of the pieces for the upset, the SEC Network even frequently showed a list of the things needed to be done to beat Kentucky.
With an inspired shooting night (making seemingly everything that was contested), two Downey'esque performances on the same team, and a long, uncharacteristic stretch where our team doesn't hit a single FG, Kentucky still pulled out the win.
This is a resilient team, and I'm much more confident about our season after seeing the fight that our Cats put out there tonight.

Nail meet head

This will be that game where you look back and laugh at the one that almost got away.

In the sense that the tape can't be used, you're correct.
In the W - L column, this game was as big as any other. Each win counts as 1, and we're trying to get as many as we possibly can. Can never have enough.
This is the kind of fight that is needed to win Championships.
That said though, Ole Miss' shooting performance was rare. And although the Cats rarely watch tape as it is, this tape would be useless for anybody. Even future opponents.

I didn't get to see the whole game, only the end of regulation and o.t. I said earlier in the season, that this team.is the opposite of our team in the regular season last year. We seemed to always shrink last year. We rarely played a team with more talent yet we still lost. This season we are finding ways to win. Its no question that we have more talent than any team. I also think this team has the most important ingredient... Heart!!

We got the bitter lesson of "you get everyone's best shot in the SEC when you are Kentucky" out of the way without a loss. Now let's see how they respond next time some team starts out hot again.
