Or maybe Drew’s wife, I never wanted him to begin with but glad she wanted to stay in Waco. I wonder if Tyson would be willing to send some nuggets to Baylor on our behalf 😎.
Remarkable when you look at the candidates how perfectly this season has gone for UK. Hurley throwing tantrums and becoming the least liked CBB coach since K. Baylor struggling, including a blowout loss to Gonzaga. Cal definitely struggling and very unlikely to make the tournament. Even Donovan and the Bulls are 10th in the Eastern Conf, although I think NBA records are less about the coach than the organization.Or maybe Drew’s wife, I never wanted him to begin with but glad she wanted to stay in Waco. I wonder if Tyson would be willing to send some nuggets to Baylor on our behalf 😎.
lol Mitch didn’t make that decision. Drew did.At the time I wasn't crazy about Drew but thought he could be a good fit for UK. I preferred him over Pope when it all went down but it's pretty clear now that Mitch made the right decision and Pope is the right guy for UK.
Dang guys did you guys NOT follow the coaching search. If Drew's wife would've been onboard with the move, then we'd have Scott Drew. Pope was a great second choice no doubt about it. I'm very pleased with what he's been able to do in such a short time.
There’s also an argument to be made that he wins in ‘20 if the tournament was held. They were supposedly the best team.Wanted Pope over Drew. Yes, he did win a title at Baylor. However, he won his only title in that Covid season. Not taking anything away from him, but that was a totally different season than any other in history. There’s an argument to be made that he may not have that title under normal circumstances. JMO.
Don't know about nuggets but they would probably consider sending Cal to BaylorOr maybe Drew’s wife, I never wanted him to begin with but glad she wanted to stay in Waco. I wonder if Tyson would be willing to send some nuggets to Baylor on our behalf 😎.
I forgot Edgecomb was playing this year. I guess Flagg takes all the spotlight, don't think ive heard his name🤡Or maybe Drew’s wife, I never wanted him to begin with but glad she wanted to stay in Waco. I wonder if Tyson would be willing to send some nuggets to Baylor on our behalf 😎.
Olsen, Carlisimo?I believe CM Newton's had to go with 3rd choice Rick Pitino and we all know how that turned out.
Yes then Rick wasn't it? Also does your screen name imply your last name is Fisher? Just wondering because my mother's last name is Fisher.Olsen, Carlisimo?
That’s what I thought. No I used to live in Fishers Indiana. Not the most original I know.Yes then Rick wasn't it? Also does your screen name imply your last name is Fisher? Just wondering because my mother's last name is Fisher.
I don't remember my full list, but I had Pope outside the top 15.Full disclosure...........This was my list
1. Pearl
2. Hurley
3. Donovan
4. Oats
5. Drew
Fifty feet of crap
Pope
Don't forget Einfeld leaving USC for SMU.It’s going be crazy to look back at all of the dominos that fell to make this happen.
Muss voluntary leaves Ark, Cal gets caught flirting with other schools and is basically forced to go to Ark, Drew’s family doesn’t like Lexington, Hurley turns down insane money to go for the 3peat, Pope is hired at UK in a surprising move. One of those things where it seems to have worked out well for UK.
At one point I think that was true for sure but now that he's established more in Auburn and had so much success, he's very happy there.I wanted Pearl. Dude would have crawled on glass from Auburn to Lexington to take the role.
But damn I'm glad we got Pope instead.
That was my 2nd guess as I live in Clarksville indiana by the ohio River. Nice talking with you Blue brotha! That’s what I thought. No I used to live in Fishers Indiana. Not the most original I know.
Born in Ashland, and lived in Louisville for a while as a kid. Lived all over with HS years in Indiana. Actually an IU grad who has never supported IU. But my daughter is a UK grad! Out of state tuition was a no go for me.That was my 2nd guess as I live in Clarksville indiana by the ohio River. Nice talking with you Blue brotha!
100%. If we could have had Bruce when Cal wanted to leave for UCLA I would have taken it. Love Pope though and am glad he is here. Special times aheadAt one point I think that was true for sure but now that he's established more in Auburn and had so much success, he's very happy there.
I wanted him, too...but ideally like 4 or 5 years ago instead of enduring the Cal spiral. Think he would've been quite solid here. And trust me, that's a big turnaround for me because I've spent a ton of my time as a fan HATING Pearl.
Our lists are pretty damn similar. I love Pope and what he has done and I'm a huge supporter of him. I still feel like Pearl was the best option in terms of winning it all, but I also know it never was going to happen. Drew was pretty far down, my list, but above Pope and I'm glad he turned it down. It would have been reminiscent of Tubby ball imo.Full disclosure...........This was my list

This was one of my takes. I just looked back and I posted this, "Bruce Pearl would kill it here. He would have the same drive as Cal had when he first arrived….no titles and dying to prove people wrong. He’d be so hungry for a title and it would be his last opportunity. Get him in here for a 5ish year run and hope the next candidate emerges at that time."I wanted Pearl. Dude would have crawled on glass from Auburn to Lexington to take the role.

You must be proud of your little one as I would be. Being the father of 2 girls that bleed blue thanks to me!Born in Ashland, and lived in Louisville for a while as a kid. It was me. I was just trying to order a burrito with chips and salsa to go........was hoping Drew would bring me some of that Tex Mex when he came to Lexington...Whoever called that Mexican restaurant should have two comped lower level tickets for life.
Way to raise them right—lol. I know it’s tough even is So. Indiana. You must be proud of your little one as I would be. Being the father of 2 girls that bleed blue thanks to me!
That's what we as parents all strive for to see our children flourish. It's a nice bonus when they keep in contact with us.My youngest would have loved to go there but he wasn’t D1 material so he’s playing ball at a small school and loving it. We spend a lot of time on the phone everyday talking UK sports.
