We need to move to the ACC!

We would be at the top of that league in every sport.

Except 1.

If as a football fan and demand 0 or 1 loss seasons the ACC is the ticket. Maybe a legit shot in the soon to be extended playoffs.

Not sure how much money we might forfeit with such a move?

A lot. Like I think something like $15 million more a year to play in the SEC vs the ACC.

And that gap is only going to get wider starting next year. Especially when the ACC either dies or goes down a peg and can't get nationally televised games.

Louisville would trade places with Kentucky in a heartbeat to jump to the SEC if they could.

No way. I love being in the SEC no matter we have a tougher schedule. Can't believe some of you want to be in a much weaker ACC just to add meaningless wins like UL. I don't care to be like them. SEC baby and we reap more benefits from it too.

I'm sorry but that's nonsense.

Acc has way better baseball programs than us and women's basketball and men's basketball would be a toss up most seasons. We wouldn't be at the top in football either.

Let's not even bring up that we get most of the recruits/coaches we do because we're in the SEC in the first place.
It's not like Kentucky can dominate on name alone going into the ACC.

I think it's more like $30 million. FSU and Clemson want out really bad.

The post was written to call out UL being in a weak league. I’m sorry some of you didn’t get the sarcasm. It was a dig to UL. But do I wish we were in the ACC? Heck yah. Do I think we would move? Of course not. Having said that, I also would rather win the ACC than get an extra $15M per year.

Wrong. The ACC is historically miles ahead of the SEC in basketball. For decades until recently, this conference has been a recreation league for basketball. Rupp knew this and took advantage of it. Years ago, basketball fans would have rioted if we had switched to the ACC.

Honestly I'd hate that. Our record would be better but would much more difficult to get hyped up for UK-Boston College, UK-Virginia, etc. Seems like every SEC game is a huge game that I can get really excited about (outside of Vandy). Also if you're not making a NY6 bowl in the ACC the best you can hope for is the ReliaQuest or Gator Bowl. If FSU doesn't get into the playoff and gets the Orange Bowl instead, Louisville might end up in the Gator Bowl even after having their best season in years.

Honestly, outside of the Orange type bowl, they’re all equally pointless. We would have a better opportunity for bigger bowls that actually matter. And who cares about big matchups like UT if we always lose? I doubt their fans see it as much of a rivalry…probably how we see Vandy.

Agree about UT, but even games like UK-FLA, UK-Mizzou, UK-USC are really really fun. I enjoy being a part of the SEC even if we could win more in the ACC

I agree but the basketball side would be better, and we’d not be bottom of the barrel in football. I tend to only watch SEC football though so that would be a bummer to have to watch teams like Virginia.
