We need to focus on the fundamentals

like blocking out, taking unchallenged shots, making the extra pass and playing good Defense on our assignments.

All this talk about a mental coach and everything else to help the team, does nothing if you are not playing good fundamentals.

Weakside rebounding killed us

We have to learn to take easier shots and not fall for other teams baiting our bad shooters into early open shots. We had so many chances in the first half to close the gap, but our offensive execution was horrible. Skal has Marcus Lee sydrome in that he jumps for blocks that aren't there and leaves the offensive board on a platter for the other team. Poy and Marcus are what that are, athletes/garbage men. Cal has to role the dice on developing Skal. This team will be good but they will be very vulnerable to match-ups. We better hope that we avoid any team full of big physical players because we will have to shoot lights out to win any of those games. North Carolina would destroy us this year. Ohio came out with beer muscles and we lost our heads in that first half. A little execution would have at least kept it relatively close in that first half but we played like freshmen. This team reminds me of the Brandon Knight team.

Does Louisville have enough big men to stop us inside now ? Only Onuaku, Spalding and Johnson are left for 4 and and 5 spots. Onuaku gets 1 foul for about every 1-2 min he plays. Very top heavy.

Mahmoud, Mathiang and Adel are all out with injuries. Those are likely 3 of their top 8 players. If we can't beat them now, then, something is really wrong with our ability to have effective front court play.
