We may not be done yet...

Ok so Courtney Love and Greg Hart, the two transfers from Nebraska really don't count towards this recruiting class however they do count towards the overall 85 scholarships. So even though UK's board shows 23 signees, we really only have 21 signees. With that said I've been told that UK may not be done yet. UK could still add more players to this class. They'll be looking at late qualifiers and transfers to fill those last spots. This class, thus far today, is ranked #34 so it shot up from #50 but could technically raise up more. Ross would be a good addition but he won't be eligible until 2016 class however.

I don't know how people's feelings are but more than one coach said today, off camera, thank god for decommits because of the length and the athletic ability that UK added with this class so far and they'll continue to look for.

Sihiem King is a smallish RB but the dude had like 20 TDs in the playoffs alone and was the class 6A player of the year in Georgia, so he's small in stature but big in play making ability.

Josh Allen had 22 sacks in his first year playing defense and lead the state of New Jersey in sacks. He got lost in the shuffle with his moving around and he's a gem that his high school coach talks highly about but also the coaching staff was celebrating once they got him.... he's big time.

Javon Provitt was rated the #1 DT in the state of Ohio by some but didn't get the offers and attention that others did because of questions on if he would qualify or not. Well because of UK's situation with the decommits they had a spot for him when he finally got qualified late late in the process. So that was nothing but the football gods shinning down on us.

Will Jackson and Derrick Beity are big additions to this class. They may not have the offers that some had but I'll tell you that the coaching staff had both these guys listed above Montrell Custis on there board and Custis was once a Bama flip but now signed with Ole Miss. Coaches feel like Jackson and Beity are better and with more length, which is what they want.

I said all that to say, I hope the people that were panicking have now calmed down. After the decommits UK Coaches pretty much righted the ship in less than 2 weeks.

Maggard also said he just turned 17 too.

Are you subtracting out Josh Clemons in your number?

Ukani--UK says Love and Hart count toward thus years class. They were asterisked on UKs website. Here is the asterisk.

2 indicates transfer from four-year school who will count toward the 2015 signing class

Per NCAA rule the 2 transfers do not count towards this class of 25 scholarships. I'm 100% positive on that. As far as UK is concerned they count towards this class for the purpose of grouping them with this class, but NCAA rules indicate that they will not.

Could be more attrition. Josh Clemons leaving was expected for a long time. I actually thought it was already announced before it was made public the other day. None the less there is still a spot open but UK won't use it just to use it.

That number also does not include Lloyd Tubman. Haven't heard anything on whether he was to be indicted on the rape charges.

It is very likely that Henry Clay OL/C Sully Simpson will join the Cats as a preferred walk on. Simpson was a four year starter for HC and is listed as a 5.2 two star with rivals. He's in the 6'2" 275 range. Sully is a terrific young man, a coach's son, and a hard worker. Sully had scholarship offers from four smaller schools. He will work to make our program better. A very good addition if true.

Certainly could be more attrition. Seems like every year around spring practice, someone gets dismissed from the team or leaves the program. If Tubman is not indicted and cleared of any charges, I would suspect the coaching staff would hold a spot for him, given that he's able to be readmitted to school.

Always the possibility of a walk-on being moved to scholarship if no one else is added. Cole Mosier certainly would be a guy considered worthy of a scholarship.

Supposedly because they were only there 1 1/2 years, but I don't know for certain.

UK was once again asked about Love and Hart and Alex Forkner from rivals.com was told again today by UK that they count because they were at the transferring school less than 2 years. So UK is either playing games or they count. I have no clue , am just repeating what UK said today.

If we stop here than we can roll 4 scholarships over to the 2016 class, but it isn't clear how we could find room for them on an 85 man roster right now. Of course injuries, transfers, disciplinary matters will take their toll.

We would have a lot of ground to make up there, no doubt UL is all over them. And not only does taking all these rejects and criminals enhance UL's team, they also attract a lot of other talent that know that when (not if in a lot of cases) they get in trouble they will skate free at UL.

I also have to wonder if the two transfers being counted in the 25 limit is also a result of our enforcement staff taking a super cautious approach while "Universities" like the U, Transfer U, TU, and many others are laughing at the joke the NCAA has become.

I don't know why but this made me think of movie "The Longest Yard". It would be hilarious to see Bobby Pitrino photoshopped in the background like he is scouting talent during the prison football game.

Wouldn't help us. UL has the market cornered in that area.
