We are playing a top 10 team every game.

That's why I don't buy this bull about us being untested. Well be the most tested team in the field. Every team we play is tripling their effort against us compared to a typical Tuesday night game in the sec.

Watching the opponents' bench go nuts every time they cut our lead to single digits has confirmed this. I'll bet 95% of the players that have played us this year has been the biggest game of their lives to that point.

Okay

Trust me Vandal, what the OP says is true, maybe not top 10 but we get everyone's best shot. Nobody's laying down (cept UCLA) because they're playing UK.
Let me ask you this, did Vandy play Mississippi State with the same effort as they played UK? Not even close. Maybe that game will help Vandy the rest of the season and show them they can beat good teams with effort but they, like most, don't bring good effort every night.

Keep your eyes on that LSU @ Vandy game this weekend. It would be SOOOO LSU to lose that game. Plus, Vandy is beyond desperate.

"they thought hitler was crazy too"

LOL. Funny post of the day!

I think the key is in what John Calipari said prior to the Alabama game,as in not wanting his team to be or look like world beaters prior to the NCAA Tournament.I think they are fluffing off just enough to win ,but not look great in doing so.

Yes,sounds crazy, but I honestly believe there is truth to this.Watch how when the want to,especially against ranked or tougher opponents they play like a precision machine, then look beatable in beating the Vandy's of the SEC

some of you guys take this everybody's superbowl thing a little too far. We've played 18 games and in maybe 5 or 6 of them did the opponent play significantly better than what you would expect.

South Carolina has beaten Iowa State. Anybody think they'll play better than that Saturday? I don't!

Im with you on this. I dont buy the whole SEC sucks and UK wont play a good team untill the NCAAT crap either. I think UK will be battle tested as good or better then ANY team in the nation come NCAAT time.

#15 UNC
#17 Texas
#32 Providence
11-7 UCLA
#26 Arkansas

You are spot on! Some of the posters may not see this but just watch the next game our opponents play.

People like to use this "Super Bowl" argument as a bail out for games that we played poorly and a lesser opponent played well. It's nothing more than an excuse, and an excuse for a game we won to make matters even worse. They say it's the other team's Super Bowl as if Super Bowl games are inherently supposed to be close. The only game I'd say that we played relatively well and the other team played up to our level is Ole Miss. Aside from that, I think we have just not brought our A game against lesser teams.

If you really want to get factual, of the 48 Super Bowl games in history, 31 have been decided by more than a touchdown. Would anyone say that the Broncos brought their "Super Bowl" game to the Super Bowl last year? Maybe it's just a pet peeve of mine, but I get tired of this super bowl thing as an excuse for when we don't play well. Just admit we didn't play great, give credit to the other team for playing well, and be happy we won.

Good luck convincing me that Vandy is a Top 10 team. That's the most ridiculous statement I've heard today. No way we would be 18-0 if we were "playing a top 10 team every game."

We are not playing a top ten team every game but we are playing teams(most) that have just enough talent they can beat you on a night they have an A plus game when you have a C minus game. Not probable, but possible. And the SEC has just enough teams that are just good enough to prepare you for a run thru the tournament. History says so.

Yep. Yes, we likely get most teams' best effort, but that sure as heck doesn't make Montana State, Missouri or Eastern Kentucky a top 10 team.

Well, Vandy winning that game shouldn't be a surprise. They'll be favorites.

Remind me, precisely how many home Men's basketball games have Texas A&M, Alabama and South Carolina sold out this season, aside from UK? Against any other opponent they're lucky to fill up half of their arenas. And more than likely, every road game we play in conference will be sold out, with some special White out, Free t-shirt, jersey retiring, etc gimmick "suspiciously" falling on the date of the games in question. We may not in actuality get every team's best shot, but there's more validity to the statement then you're willing to let on. When UK comes to town, it's the most important game of the regular season to every fan in attendance of said games, regardless of if the opposing players echo those sentiments or not.

I don't understand. How does sandbagging help the team in any way?
