Yeah, reading his evaluation, he is much much better than I thought. Projected as a very good college starter that will be drafted of either DL or OL. Said that size wise he is college ready the way he is built. Quick off the ball, will be a powerful bull rusher if plays on the DL or on the OL the type that can drive DL backwards with his quick burst and power combination.

What do we conclude from this? I will take a stab at it, but who knows?
UK- Spencer attended camps in Lexington and got chummy with Coach Marrow. UK was Spencer's early preference, and there were two CB picks for UK. The last CB pick was from Steve Wiltfong in September, and I felt at the time that we would sign him. Subsequently, that story has gone cold.
UL- Spencer apparently never warmed up to Satterfield. Now it is about Jeff Brohm's homecoming. The gossip is that Mr. Vaughn has gotten onboard the Brohm train. I don't know yet how much of this to believe, but common sense tells me Spencer wil listen to Brohm's pitch.
MS St- Spencer visited Starkville. My guess would be that Mike Leach's passing will make it harder for MS St to close the deal, especially if Spencer sees himself as an offensive player.
MI St- Here, it is all about NIL. Tucker came in late and almost got Kiyaunta Goodwin this way a year ago, which may or may not suggest anything in Spencer's case.
No way of knowing the biggest question and answer and that is does Spencer think about the upside of playing with superior players and coaches and against superior players and coaches in the SEC to help him better prep for the pro's? If his evaluation is correct, this is a guy that could do very well in the pro's with high work ethic and prep at the highest level. Of those four schools, it is obvious from a business standpoint which would be best for him athletically. Or is his thinking to just go with the coach he feels more comfortable with as his main thought process? As far as needs, we definitely need a guy like this on either side of the ball.
You are certainly right on a mature level of thought. But few teenagers have that kind of clarity.
We also don't know how hard Coach Marrow is pursuing Spencer at this point. By my most recent count, UK has 4 more scholarships left to give now, and one of those has Wilcox's name on it. We don't know which new inbound transfers Stoops might have in mind for summer enrollment, but he could use another experienced receiver, another edge LB, and maybe another DB. If he can't sign Wilcox, he needs another RB too. I have seen various other online roster analyses that suggest seniors like TRob, Quintin Wilson, and Chance Poore will use a COVID season to return to UK in 2023. I don't know how that would work, and I did not include those names in my own roster count. But my point is that we don't know whether there is actually still a UK scholarship available for Spencer.
Yeah, but just going by the quality/quantity of DL and OL the last two classes I would sure like to have a guy like this. I know we are pretty sure about Wilcox, but even if we get Wilcox I would feel better with another runner from the portal. When you are talking about an injured Jefferson coming back, a high schooler in Wilcox and Wright being in the doghouse off and on for fumbling I feel like another guy would solidify getting through the season better. I hope TRod comes back, don't feel good with the way he was used last season. Agree on those positions of need you suggested.
I'm just wondering how many open scholarships Stoops believes he has now. By my count, there are four. But there are so many factors that we can't possibly know, including players at other schools who might enter the portal during the spring. The story on UK's recruitment of Spencer went cold in October. OT is always a need position, but we have a lot of young OGs. UK's coaches see Spencer as an OG. I wonder if UK is still actively recruiting Spencer. Although I can see a role for him in the class, that doesn't mean our coaches see it.

What about the RB from Georgia Stoops alluded to on signing day? What's his status/story?
Guess you're talking about Wilcox. Have seen claims he'll enroll at UK in Jan but not sign a NLI. That has happened in the past, guys sign a financial agreement with a university. We'll see.
