So, last nights start of the season was bittersweet for me.

As some of you know, I lost my last family in my Mom and I’s dog in June. It’s been four months of rough nights and some “ok” days. I had to have a good teary session as the starting lineups were announced. We’re finally getting back to some normalcy in both spoetingevents and our on court performance.

I then thought about how many of our fellow Kentuckians just didn’t make it though this past year and a half. And how many people we’ve lost over the past months. Some of whom were huge BBN members and were probably looking forward to this as much as we were. And of course losing Terrence this past year as well.

And how much Jared Lorenzen would’ve just been so stoked by this years football squad.

I just want to give a little thanks to this board and you al for being here, because it makes me feel like I’m not quite so by myself watching our boys on a TV screen. And I’m so glad most of us are still here to enjoy it. I know it’s one of the few things I can still enjoy and not just completely be emotionally wrecked by.

No matter how this season turns out I hope we all can just enjoy it and our team. We’ve got a bunch of likable guys this year and I think we will all have our favorites by seasons end. I already like Oscar and Ty. Just seem so mature and open. I do miss having a Nick Richards type whom I was driven crazy by but worked his butt off.

Sorry to ramble. Just kinda sad today as I look forward to this new seasons but realize how many of our fellow BBN folks are no longer with us.

Again, thank you all for being here. It’s nice to have a basketball outlet, especially since some of my new coworkers (who I like) just aren’t big college sports folks.

Man, prayers to you. Makes me realize life could be worse. Went through an out-of-nowhere divorce in 2020 right when the pandemic hit and lost my job around the same time. Ended up finding an awesome job that made life a little more tolerable. I hope this team can make us all proud.

Anytime! Love to chat about the Cats, hopefully the grief gets better after some time. Maybe you will find another companion to help you out. You can never replace a pet but I find getting a new one eventually helps, it’s like gaining a new best friend again.

It’s gotten better. But milestones are going to hurt for awhile. And basketball season starting was always a huge milestone in my family.
