Watching Miami and Clemson

Dont think Pope likes a zone
What I know from listening to anything about Pope's coaching is that IF: Big IF: we run into Clemson in NCAA tourney, his scouting guys will show difference in scoring for them against man to man and zone. I would think if numbers show correctly that Zone is the way to go, I bet Pope would get Fox to teach everything on zone. I would bet we would be switching defense all game to disrupt Clemson.

That little Neanderthal all American guy that torched us looks more like a second string playground guy today. Imagine that.
That little dude exposed how weak we are at guard when Butler is not on the floor and is battling foul trouble when he is on the floor.

That little $hit had one move, just one, fake left and drive right. And we couldn't figure it out.

I think Miami has issues that go beyond the ability of their players. Regardless of the reason, Miami is not playing well at all. But Clemson did beat Miami by double digits on the road, and handled them much easier than Arkansas.

Arkansas is freaky athletic as Cal’s usual teams. Lack coaching and shooters. Fland got hot against Miami and won the game for them.
I don't think they actually lack shooters though. Fland, Davis (who is still recovering from a wrist injury), and Z will probably all shoot over 40% from 3. DJ will be mid-30s. That's more 40% shooters than we have and they are shooting just 0.3% worse than use from 3 this year.

MAYBE being on the road makes a difference also, just a thought. At home, they probably win by 20+. Some of you need to get it thru your head that playing on the road is tough. Are we going to do the Arkansas thing and critique every Clemson game now also ? I tend to worry about what UK is doing, I don't really GAF what other teams are doing.

Agree. But Wagner and Z had some big plays in the second half run also. Not like Fland carried them on his back. Z hit a big 3 before Fland scored to give them the lead. Davis had 11 of his 12 in the 2nd half. Wagner was huge in the run in the 2nd half at both ends.

They lack coaching!!

I’ll give Clemson a little bit of credit. We’ve seen the unranked team beat us at their place(court storm) then drop their next game a ton over the years.
Them being unranked was an overreaction to Boise state. They are a 1 loss team that every computer rank in has in the top 25.

Conference games on the road are tough to win (as we know all too well). To go win by 10 at a Miami team (that’s underachieving but still can be tough) that has an ACC 1st team guy at guard, is a good follow up to them beating us. I predict Clemson finishes 2nd in the ACC
