Washington Post's In-depth Look at Grayson Allen's Dirty Play

I have had a lot of respect for coach K over the years. He is letting his competitiveness cloud his judgement and therefore lost some of my respect. Often times players are disciplined internally for good reason - the general public does not know the infraction - in this case everyone knows and the player even had an publicly stated excuse/lie. This gives the university a black eye and he should be suspended AND forced to make a public apology.

Boom!

I think the Post has been anti-K ever since Maryland got robbed in the 2001 Final Four.

Dicky V has been completely in the tank for years, but I wonder if Bilas will be man enough to call K out over this one.

Has anyone noticed if he's made any comments?

Might have to tune in to GameDay this morning. Wait. That show has two Dukies, right?

Enough with the namby-pamby stuff. A "private punishment" is appropriate for a private offense. Such as curfew violation or being late for practice. But this was a second offense of a serious violation that could have potentially caused serious injury to an opposing player. If Coach K fails to properly address this then we can assume that whole "integrity" thing is just a farce.

Well, maybe the refs will be watching Allen more closely and start calling this 3 step walks he does and chicken wings he throws out.

Mike Shitchefski has been teaching dirty play since he became a head coach and the media has covered for Duke getting preferential treatment by officiating and the NCAA for decades,it's time they made a level playing field for those cheap shot, dirty, cheating, referee pampered, panty wearing ,dookies

Surprise surprise. Bilas is fine with how it was handled.

I have never liked splinter I guess it's the sneer on his face, you don't have to be dirty or look mean to win games, Allen even looks like a young coach Krybaby. I can't deny the fact he is a good coach, but if I were a top notch player I would rather beat him than play for him, I enjoy seeing him Kry on the sidelines. He knows what Allen is doing and it's not that much different than Chaney sending in a goon to take out an opposing player, both ways you could hurt somebody bad. A thin roster and seven losses are getting to coach Krybaby so he is more tolerant of that kind of thing if it helps him win. Duke losing like they have this year is hurting him and it shows.

we all saw this during our game against Duke. His head snapping back as if he had been hit every time he got near one of our players. How often did he hit the floor with no contact? Or so little contact it wouldn't make my 18 month old granddaughter fall?. He didn't get away with that stuff that game, but has many others.
I've watched quite a few Duke games this year (I know, I know) - Allen hooks, pushes off, flops, uses his knees - all the little things that make him dirty

Coach K is an under study of Bob Knight, of course he teaches his kids to play dirty. They have been flopping for years.

I wish UK fans would stop the ass kissing when it comes to Bilas. The dude is a coward. Yes it's great that he hates the NCAA, but a pure coward when it comes to his coaching boys (Huckleberry, Crypt Keeper and Ratface). All three should be ripped accordingly , but he never has
couldnt have said it better. It's as if Bilas and Vitale are held to different standards in how little they address the ugly side of unc, duke, etc

Coach K is what he has always been a 2 faced fake and fraud, everyone has looked the other way for years and will pretty much continue to do so,it is good to see a few in the media call it like it is for once.

His players have a long history of cheap shots. Just ask Hansbrough. And he's the worst abuser of refs by far (he learned from the master).

Exactly,K has been the Teflon Don for years, nothing sticks to him.Lord knows there have been plenty of things that should have stuck. It is almost funny that Allen's tripping incident has caught so much attention when you think of the Hansborough incident,Laetner and Sulaimon

Not sure why you have had a lot of respect for him except for the fact that he has won a lot of games. He has been a total dirtbag for much of the last 25 years.

Bilas was a total attorney this morning on this subject - deflecting, talking about "proportionality". Very disappointed in him. Seth Greenburg was awesome and called out K for not disciplining him.

For some reason that kid thinks he is entitled as about every time he drives to the basket he expects a foul to be called so he can get some free throws.

That's great, cute article. Means nothing. He's a POS sure and a dirty player - which lends itself to his lack of integrity and character - but he doesn't care. No one who is in a position to do anything about it truly does. He'll still get tons of praise, win ACC POY and be stroked off all March long.
