looks like the too soon to tell is ahead. Any one want to opine about our past teams.

Two come to my mind.1975 also 1996

never saw Rupps teams any of those for edification.

Love the kentucky long rifles and last seasons has this one(championship) in my gun sights.#blue barrell shots firing this year and Duke and Louisville get cut down soon and Kansas in January where the Phog is gunpowder smoke Bill Selfs wont need more time but better excuses.

Agree on Givens, Macy, & Claytor,

Dampier, Riley , Conner..........not bad/

Will be tough to beat the 2011 team with Lamb, Miller, knight. Jones, Harrellson and Liggins did ok too.

Having good shooters is no guarantee of being a good shooting team , sounds ridiculous but it's true for the very simple reason is that you need to be open to shoot a good percentage . For that you need good interior play , spacing and ball movement to force a defense to get out of position with help defense among other things . Are we going to move the ball enough to create good shots or will the ball die in one persons hands and stagnate everything which makes it really easy for a defense to cover with minimal effort ? Doron Lamb shot a great % because he took quality shots but he got those opportunities because there was good interior play and a pg who was difficult to defend one on one .

This is somewhat "off topic", but the thread led me to Jon Scott's site to see who the best career percentage shooters have been at U.K. over the years. Here's a quick list of the highest career FG percentages of players whom I don't consider to have been almost totally "inside players". Some on this list have a relatively low number of career FG attempts. I didn't make any effort to cull those out. I also added some of the most famous U.K. shooters who had the best career FG percentages.

Just FYI . . .

Erik Daniels 55.32%
Jason Parker 55.17%
Troy McKinley 53.66%
