The collapse at UT was a huge lesson learned. Calipari can use that game to motivate his team from getting too complacent.....as awful as the loss was for Cat fans.....

The Auburn and UT losses should have never happened even after coming back after the tough Kansas OT Loss in AFH. The game at UT started off like UK was going to take the tough OT Loss in Kansas out on UT in Knoxville. Then the refs at the 5 min. mark had seen enough when Briscoe went in for the layup and the lead was 34-13 and a 21 point lead. The rest of the 5 minutes UT was at the line 13 times and made all 13. Before the 5 minute mark the refs were letting both teams play and hardly any fouls the first 15 minutes of play and that is when UK was playing great ball and built the 21 point lead. The Auburn game was similar and UK had a 12 point lead in 2nd half and one man Karem Canty was making every 3 he threw up. Too bad the Auburn game wasn't later in league play now that Canty has left Auburn for the season. Canty scored 26 and if we played Auburn without him UK would have won this game by 20-25 points. We should have won these 2 games vs. UT and Auburn on the road and UK would be 21-4 and 11-1 in the SEC with a 2 game lead over LSU with 6 games to go and our last game(Senior Day) vs. LSU.

Whether Canty is playing or not shouldn't matter. I don't want to beat teams because they didn't have their best player, I want to beat teams when they are at full strength. It better prepares them for what they will be up against in March.
The thing about the Auburn game is this, the team really didn't know how to win on the road. Auburn continued to throw haymakers and UK stopped responding. That's not the case now.
As good as next year's team is going to be, expect more of the same if Tyler doesn't return.
That UT game was just frustrating. That was an aggravating loss. Shouldn't have happened but if it left a bad taste in our players' mouths than maybe it was a good loss.
