Vince Dooley RIP

A gentleman's gentleman.

I lived in Athens twice. I heard him speak once back in 1994. Great story teller as well as coach.

An iconic figure and a credit to his family and profession.

Farewell Coach!

GBB!

Thanks for the kind words. Been a rough 10 days for us Dawgs. Charlie Trippi, regarded by many as UGA's best ever passed at age 100 and now Vince.
Dooley was a great coach and an even better human.

I missed the news about Charlie Trippi. I believe he and Heisman winner Frank Sinkwich played together on one of those great Wally Butts Georgia teams from the 40s. Two All Americans and Hall of Famers in the same backfield -- Legends.

Just looking at his Wiki page

Did NOT know he was from Mobile,AL or that he played and coached at Auburn

Georgia fans have an odd but interesting relationship with Auburn - I think they actually respect and like one another

Whereas Georgia Tech or Florida -- not so much

;)

Anywho - i think we can ALL agree that UGA needs to humiliate UF today and the Volunteers need to get potty trained in their own back yard (BAD SMOKEY!! BAD DOG!!!))

Hope all yall are with good people today and enjoying this weather -

PS -

For the UGA fans - my in laws are from middle Georgia- place called Dublin ...Laurens Co - you never know whos posting here and where they're from - so maybe that location strikes a chord
