We are in competition with Arky and Texas A & M for the Citrus/Outback Bowls.

A & M ended their season at a 1-2 clip. Arky at 2-1, and Kentucky at 3-0.

U of L was favored, and we beat them by 31 points, the final score not really indicative of the beat down.

U of L played Clemson to within one possession, and had only one other blowout, on a neutral field, to Top 10 Ole Miss.

The more I look at the U of L game, the more I think it and our strong finish will clarify the choice by the Citrus Bowl, and perhaps the committee in the rankings Tuesday.

Along with being 9-3, 5-3, (each better than Ark. and aTm’s identical 8-4, 4-4 records), only four teams in the SEC finished with winning records in road games: Georgia, Bama, Kentucky and Mississippi State.

It is said “that defense travels well.”

So do Kentucky fans!

If Iowa is the obvious Big Ten choice for the Citrus, then the SEC choice is also pretty damn obvious. I guarandamntee you with the Stoops’ family connections to Iowa, we will go through a New Year’s Day Bowl with little mention of basketball, horse racing and bourbon.

I think it’ll be Orlando for us, Tampa for aTm, and Jacksonville (Gator) for Arkansas.

I am okay with any New Year's Day bowl in Florida, but I'll be honest, if I have my pickins, I think I'd rather have the Outback. I know that the Citrus is considered more prestigious, but we have already won that one. I am still slightly bitter about losing the Outback in 1999 and I want to win it. Don't get me wrong, if we go to the Citrus, I am hyped about that as well and it would be great to win a second one and I would not complain for a second, but I just think it would be really cool to win the Outback. JMO.

I will gladly take either, But I want the most prestigious one.. I also remember the last Outback bowl and would like to win it also but still want the one that helps UK's identity.. I always want the best for Uk no matter what..

Like I said, I won't complain about either. I just hope we win. And if we don't, still a pretty good season overall. :)

When I saw the line I predicted a 45-10 win for UKL or even by a worse score than that. Looks like the worse score was the choice. Even had some Loser Fans chime in and make their predictions of a U of L win 34 - 24. After the game, one of the guys who saw mt post was amazed at how close I called the score on the game. Guess I should have went and bought a Lottery Ticket after that game for sure.

Watching Levis and this offense pummel UL, a bowl team also might like the attractiveness of the under the radar star power. Levis is becoming exciting to watch. Heck, one announcer even compare him to Tebow.

He isn't even under the radar if you count social media. That stuff counts for a ton nowadays.

A top offense, a defensive star, huge traveling fan base, and now we're ranked above a&m and Arkansas along with the better record. Citrus should be a lock.

Under the radar for the average CF fan. SEC fans generally know him. He is still under the radar for most of CF.

And as weird as this sounds, A&M beating Bama looks slightly less impressive given BAMA’s performance against ArK, AU, and perhaps even FLorida.

and look, I get it, Alabama knows how to win (and get a favorable whistle), but their margin of error was a notch lower than it has been in some recent seasons.

Now, if they beat UGA . . .
