A preseason top 10 team. Many had them as a final four team. I saw them twice in November and they were scary good. I am told by some insiders that if they don't make the NCAA tourney and make a deep run that Stallings is on the hot seat. They have vastly under achieved. 3. Years ago they had 2 first round picks and a second round pick and went out in second round. Vandy fans have had enough of pre season hype only to flame out.

They got to be one of the bigger disappointments this year. A lot of hype going into the season, I know injuries hit them but 11-8 is not good. I don't think they'll be able to pull themselves out of the hole by seasons end.

I've also thought Stallings to be bit overrated. He's a decent coach but nothing spectacular. He's been at Vandy since 1999 and has only advanced to the Sweet 16 twice. It's not like he's just had a bunch of scrubs, there's been some good players to play for Vandy. I would think Vandy fans would be tired of mediocrity, all 5 of them.

They are loaded with talent and just rarely play well . I do think we might drop a game at their house but they should be a top 15 team at worst . And not having the 7'0 white kid who is decent nothing more for some games doesn't excuse that record. At worst they should have 5 losses with their schedule.

He was a good coach for Vanderbilt. But four years of no tournament? I think he's lost his fast ball. What's the risk of cutting him loose and bringing in someone new. The sec is so awful, there's no excuse Vandy couldn't be a perennial top four or five team.

They will start to row. Ran into a hot team today. Watch them finish top 5 in SEC

So that's why Vitale was talking him up today and saying what a good coach he was.

They were probably expecting 5 more points a game out of LaChance and 3-4 more points per game from Jones. Also, Jones is only average just over 6 rebounds a game. That dude should be better.

I know it doesn't work this way, but if you give those two players 8 more points and add that to the games the game scores they'e lost to then they'd be 16-3. Obviously there are other things that go in to it, but basically those two players have underachieved.

The SEC is nowhere near awful.

Stallings is a TERRIBLE defensive coach . Seems like he only cares about offense .

If he misses this year and next year, they should "consider" a move even though I think he could end up in a final four eventually.

Vandy is historically god awful in everything. You've got to remember that. If they make a move, they better have a plan. You don't force him out to bring in garbage.

I think Tubby Smith would be great for Vandy personally. Id give him a look.

Vandy should be better than they are.La Chance hasn't followed up his frosh year with much production.Stallings is an ok coach but he is not what some make him out to be.I think this team is just about to throw in the towel on this season.

They could go 0-3 in their next 3 (probably 1-2) and just mail it in till the SECT I don't see them coming out of this well.

baldwin was terrible today, but he's supposed to be a first-round pick

jones and kornet are probably nba players too

11-8 with that roster is not good

Did anyone else notice that when one of our guards got switched on to one of their 7 footers that they just couldn't get the ball down low to them? That would frustrate me if I was one of the Big guys on their team.

Remember when a lot of people were saying Vandy could be the best team in the country early on? Nope, just your same ol Vandy.

Not sure how to take Vandy this year. The front court has more talent than aggressiveness. That's my take from today. A quick look at some of their stats and this one jumps out: Jones, one of the best players in the country, is averaging fewer minutes this year than he did as either a freshman or a sophomore. It seems like 24 minutes a game just shouldn't do for a player like that. Then Baldwin, leading the team in minutes played at 29.4 this season, A bit high with turnovers maybe, but otherwise his stat line for the year is so good it's hard to believe they've lost 8 games. Lost at home to Dayton and then Dayton lost their next game at home to Chattanooga. Stallings' seat more than warm.

Stallings seat is not warm. Who the hell would want to go to Vandy? They have the best possible coach they could ask for.

They are 9-2 with Kornet, (not including the UK game) with the losses being close on the road to Kansas and South Carolina. They are 2-5 without Kornet, so they are a good team when healthy, we were just that much better today.

They'll be world beaters when we play them again in Nashville and we'll be playing s totally
Different team in a few weeks. UK is playing as well as they have all season and would have beaten anyone this day.

Stallings only does good every 2-3 years.

This. He has underachieved with some of the teams he has had.

Lachance isn't scoring and he can't defend. Sophomore slump. Their original hype was based partly on his performance from last year as well as Jones who has underperformed. We know something about pre-season hype based on certain player potential. Vandy quit yesterday when we came out and punched them in the mouth. Stallings hasn't changed but something is missing from this team. Bottom line they have always done better as overachievers and are underwhelming when perceived as special.

Can you imagine being 6'10" and posting up Tyler Ulis... And not immediately getting the ball? And then never getting the ball? And then someone else taking a bad shot?

This is a ridicoulous statement. Vandy can get a very good coach. Vandy is more like Duke than many people realize. It will NEVER be a football school. Basketball and Baseball are Vandy's sports. The team has great support with basketball and we can only hope more people, Vanderbilt's current administration, agrees with you. Vanderbilt is actually a sleeping giant in basketball. If I were Vanderbilt I would go after Archie Miller immediately. I think is a great career building job and possibly a destination job once you got it going.

Go Big Blue!
