To be honest....that is the next logical conclusion is to put Vandy out of SEC. Charter member or not....this is absurd on their part. To not be able to add in Clemson and FSU but keep Vandy to share equal revenue.SEC should buy Vandy out.
What's the criteria and who sets it? Wins and loses? Vandy beat UK and UF last year, do we kick them out too? Vandy beat TN 4 out of 6 years just a few years ago, do we boot TN too? Probation? Vandy's never been on probation to my knowledge while Auburn's the most penalized program in NCAA history and TN famously thumbs it nose at the NCAA. And, of course, Vandy's a charter member of the SEC. Maybe they aren't worthy but if I were SEC schools, I'd make damn sure I compete and beat them instead of hunting some bogus excuse to dump them. Besides, if somebody's first somebody has to be last.To be honest....that is the next logical conclusion is to put Vandy out of SEC. Charter member or not....this is absurd on their part. I think the next stage of conference alignment will be current teams that arne't worthy.
UK was in that same position years ago. I really never counted men’s basketball as a reason to keep us since it’s secondary and tertiary in importance at schools in the conference not named UK.Vandy adds exactly nothing to the SEC. Can't imagine their games draw many eyeballs regardless of the opponent. More times than not, opposing fans outnumber home fans at VU home games. Really a bottom feeder for almost all of their history in football. Every so often, they've had a few good BB teams but it's rare. Have had a pretty good baseball program but, as far as revenue is concerned, baseball doesn't move the needle one iota. Do they even have an athletic director? For at least a few years, they didn't and still cashed huge SEC checks. Doesn't seem right but I don't think the SEC will force them out unless it decides to break away from the NCAA and form an elite league with B10, B12, Pac, ACC teams. I think Vandy would be on the outside looking in under such circumstances.
Bow tie wearing Gordon Gee.For a long time their AD was a professor that was doing it part time like a lot of high school ADs are.
No David WilliamsBow tie wearing Gordon Gee.
SEC should buy Vandy out.
That's right. Gee was Chancellor at the time. He eliminated the athletic department and put Williams, the Vice- Chancellor in charge of athletics affairs. No David Williams
It is not that big of a difference. The one end zone only had tents/VIP guests ... and the other end zone was students (who never came anyway).
I just looked at tickets for the UK game, and the cheapest is $75 + $9 service fee. Geez, that is ridiculous.

I feel bad for them too, all 7 of of them.I’ve always felt bad for the diehard Vandy fans having to put up with an old stadium, bad teams, and their home stadium being invaded by redneck UT fans.
I really do. I may buy one a beer.
Eyes. That's the whole point any more. And I'd take a black eye. Black eyes don't last. They could buy any of us out, but buying Vandy out would give us a blackeye, most prestigious academic school in the conference a charter member, if we are going to buy any team out what does Missouri bring?
Exactly. Nashville can be a fun town to visit, but it’s pretty much become a tourist trap.Find anything to do or go in NashVegas that isn't outrageously expensive
Well, the BB team has always been in the spotlight and I would guess helped the SEC to some extent. Also, the times have changed drastically and there is an enormous amount of money involved nowadays. VU football is a leech on the conference. Rarely makes a bowl game and almost always a very minor, pre-Xmas bowl at that. Generate very little revenue from football on their own with a rinky dink stadium that is only more than half full because of visiting team's fans.UK was in that same position years ago. I really never counted men’s basketball as a reason to keep us since it’s secondary and tertiary in importance at schools in the conference not named UK.
Had the pleasure of attending games at Memorial sitting fairly low behind the basket. Super venue. The only place better to watch a basketball game was our Memorial Coliseum. Long live Memorial Gym.I know it’s a different subject, but they should build a real basketball arena. I know a lot of people like Memorial Gym. I am not one of them.
The SEC is never going to move out a charter member as long as they compete in D-1. Tulane and Georgia Tech would still be in today if they had not chosen to leave.SEC should buy Vandy out.
Just bought 4 tickets on 30 yard line row20 for 55 bucks apiece. LOTS of great seats available cheap. Although it is easily the worst staduim in SEC there will be a BUNCH of UK fans there, and Nashville is a great place to staySaddest thing is those most hurt are visiting fans
Still try and go week 4 Big Blue Nation!!! If tickets aren't available watch & raise hell on Broadway!!!
Stub Hub selling seats much cheaper than Vandy's official web siteIt is not that big of a difference. The one end zone only had tents/VIP guests ... and the other end zone was students (who never came anyway).

Sewanee rolled out and they was a founding member. Vanderbilt should go play in whatever D3 league The Great Sewanee is now in. I probably don't really need talk too much shit though since they just beat us last year. We do have a real stadium though with big fancy closed in endzones and the asses to go in those seats and everything else😂.If it wasn’t a founding member of SEC, Vandy would be in the OVC.
Got great seats on Stub Hub $33 eachStub Hub selling seats much cheaper than Vandy's official web site
