Vanderbilt & LSU will be the only teams in the Sec to give the cats a run..

Texas A&M is better than LSU simply because they have a better coach and Danuel House is very good. Their guards are better.
Also, if we play any SEC road game the way we have the last two games don't expect too many wins.

Vandy, TAMU, LSU for sure will be tough. UT is improved this year. They have better coaching. UK needs to continue to work on shooting, rebounding and defense to win the regular season. I expect the SEC champion will have 3-4 losses this year unless a team gets on a roll. TAMU is the best team besides UK, imo.

2 things wrong with that post.
1) Tennessee's new coach (Barnes) is not better than Tyndall. He's just cleaner. We have made fun of Barnes on here for years, he's awful.
2) you must not have watched Vanderbilt play if you think A&M is better. Vandy >>>>>A&M.

South Carolina is 5-0. I think the SEC gets six in the tourney this year....UK, Vandy, LSU, Texas A&M, Florida and USC. I have not seen enough of Auburn to make a call with them yet.

I have watched Auburn 3 times and they are better than Th. Or SC in my opinion. They run the floor, push tempo and are dangerous from outside the arc. They are tough at home and their crowd is loud.

By 'give us a run' what do you mean? If you mean in any individual game, then yes LSU probably will in Baton Rouge. A&M likely will in College Station as well. BTW.....how are we going there 2 straight years? Shouldn't they be in Rupp this year?

Vandy is the only team that is going to 'give us a run' for first place. I think both UK and Vandy finish 15-3 or 16-2 and COULD (depending if Vandy can beat Kansas tonight) be in a dog fight not only for the SEC regular season title but also in a fight for that #1 seed in Louisville.

BTW....as UKDUNK mentions....South Carolina has actually been impressive. They got a very good win over Tulsa in the USVI after Tulsa had knocked off Top 10 Wichita State last week. They could be a sleeper for the 4th or 5th spot in the conference and fight for an NCAA bid. Not sure about Florida though. The Gators will probably have 3-4 OOC losses and then probably need to go 12-6 in the SEC. I don't see that happening.

its like some have never watched UK play in the sec. teams play like their lives depended on it against us
And yet we still win 85% of our conference games......

That would equate to being 15-3 or 16-2 this year.....which is probably right about where we will be.

You nailed it with South Carolina. I watched them a few nights ago. They are a solid team. I'm not too impressed with Florida though.

I predict 15-3.

Losses @LSU, @A&M, and @Vandy.

We have some close calls against some lesser teams on the road, but end up winning those.

I am still saying four losses (the three above, plus @KU) in the regular season.

I haven't seen South Carolina play yet, have they played anyone decent yet?

I swear they look at who the tougher teams are going to be then make sure they schedule UK to play those teams on the road. This year is a perfect example.

anybody know how georgia looks this year? i know djirisic is gone, i think, but i remember how they damn near beat us down there last year.

They beat Tulsa who beat #9 Wichita State by 10. The Cocks are legit.

This is the first season Frank Martin has put a team on the court at USC that looks like what I expected out of him. It's still early in the season, but the game I watched made me take notice.

At this point in the season, it would be hard to rank LSU any higher than 5th best in the SEC.

Right now, UK, TAMU, South Carolina, and Vandy seem to be clearly better. Florida may even be argued to be stronger than LSU since they've performed much better against cupcakes than LSU.

Well he said give us a run.... never said beat us. Many teams in the sec have come close to beating us that had no business being in the game..... A&M and Ole Miss being two last year.

If Ben Simmons realizes he cannot be stopped at this level and decides to score 25 per game, LSU is a top 10 team. Point forward Ben Simmons will lead them no further than the NIT.

Ben Simmons can't hit jump shots..... His 4 pts last night had a lot to do with the fact NC State and the way they were daring him to take jump shots.... in which he didnt take.

I'll take a rain check on lay right now, their pitiful ot play against lonely nc state shows me they aren't a threat yet, but they may change by the time we play them

I don't see any other teams giving them a run in the league.

Unfortunately, Vanderbilt will beat us at least once. They have sharp shooters everywhere and they pass the ball better than anyone. We can't hit free throws to save our arse. What's up with Briscoe and his bricks at the line anyway? He is a guard and there is no excuse for his free throw shooting. He needs to put more work in at the line. Same with Lee.

False. It's conference play, you can bank on almost every road game we play being difficult and there will be multiple games where mediocre teams play out of their minds.

The SEC is loaded with athletes. Lots of run fast and jump high in the conference. Historically it's combined with poor coaching and team chemistry though.

There will be a couple games where the guys on the other side come together and bring it and we may take an unexpected loss.

Don't forget to tell the team and Cal, Vandy will beat us at least once.
