Van Vleet And Baker Of Wichita State

I knew Van Vleet had another year but I would have bet my house that Baker was a senior last year. Probably partially explains why Marshall stayed put last year.

Lol my thoughts exactly they must have the 10/5 yr rule in college basketball. They've been there since the Clinton administration

I still don't get these threads, I see them year after year. You get four years of eligibility, a fifth if you redshirt, in special circumstances even a 6th year if there is a regular redshirt and a medical redshirt. I get that its hyperbole but you don't hear people say this who follow all of cbb and not just their team. Not that there is anything wrong with not paying attention to other teams but if you know alot about other teams rosters and follow recruiting it gets a little annoying hearing it over and over about every good/decent senior

One of my favorite ones to throw out there was the little 5'5" guard from Ole Miss, Jason Harrison. That dude seemed to be there as long as Tubby Smith was our coach.

Let me break it down for you. At times it seems like a really good player has been playing at a school longer than he actually has. Now we know in actuality that Baker hasn't been at WS for 10 years. No sir, that would be against NCAA rules. We know that teams must remain in compliance with the rules and only allow 4 years to each player. Again, IT SEEMS LIKE certain players have been at schools for decades,

Rod Barnes for me or Ricky Blanton. Both those seemed to be their forever. Couldn't stand Blanton and his antics.

Not your best effort Kari.

I think you missed the part where I acknowledged the hyperbole of such statements. All I was saying is that 4 years seems like 4 years to me, not 10. Having gone to high school and college I'm pretty familiar with how one goes from being a freshman to a sophomore to a junior to a senior. So when a first watch a guy as a freshman, I'm not surprised when he is still playing 3 years later as a senior. I just really can't wrap my head around 4 years seeming longer than 4 years.

i am guessing that you really can't wrap your head around when people say "time sure flies as you get older" or "man this day has sure went by fast" or "man this day has dragged on"

i am willing to bet that you have used one of those at some point

Nah it's just played out, every time there is a good senior someone's like "seems like he's been there ten years!!". Just like every time a hoopmixtape is posted someone inevitably comments, "this guy NEVER misses!" Idk it's just stupid and unoriginal.

Dude just chill. Trying to have a little fun to ease the tensions around here with people being disappointed in our play.

I think one reason it seems like players have been around for longer is that in the past they didn't play as freshmen and sometimes didn't really stand out until like they were upperclassmen. Now with players leaving early, it is causing more and more freshmen to get meaningful minutes and making you remember them for longer periods of time. Any player that doesn't leave early here probably feels like they have been here forever to other fans.
