UofL 45 days to respond to NCAA is up

Their written response was due to the NCAA by Monday or Tuesday (I had it down for Monday, but I asked Eric Crawford and he thought Tuesday was the deadline). However, they won't just release it to the public immediately, they probably are prohibited from voluntarily distributing a copy by NCAA rules. It will likely only come out pursuant to an open records request, and UofL probably has some time to redact and prepare it for public release.

This is the appellate brief, right? So that was 15 days to notice an appeal, and then 30 days to file it? The 45-day period to name the games to be vacated does not apply until the appeal is over, but that is a formality anyway, unless the NCAA reverses the vacation of games penalty.

i may be mistaken but i think the total timeline between UL and the NCAA is 90 days
so we are past the halfway point to this all being final

We likely won't have a final decision until around oct/nov.

Why do NCAA processes and procedures take so damn long?

Louisville doesn't need 45 days to explain who the ineligible players players are, and really, the NCAA shouldn't need them to. That's almost two months of unnecessary wait.

The NCAA is not a criminal governing body, it's not like they've got missing persons reports and murders to solve in LA. For the amount of employees they employ, and with the amount of investigations factored in this should have been a 30-60 day open and shut situation.

They have to take the penicillin for the full ten days to see if the discharge stops.....oh wait, that is another issue they are waiting to "clear up".

UofL is not naming ineligible players yet. They don't have to do that until the appeals process is over.

UofL had 15 days to notify the NCAA if they intended to appeal, and then 30 days after that to submit their brief in support of their appeal. That is what we are waiting to see. As to why the process takes so long... it's due process. Both sides need to be aware of what the other's argument will be and prepare and respond accordingly. If you think this takes a long time you should see how backed up the court system can get.

Approximate time line to remember.
UL had until the end of June to notify the NCAA of their intent to appeal.
UL had until the end of July to file their appeal.
The NCAA has until the end of August to respond to the appeal.
UL then has until the middle of September to issue a rebuttal.
The NCAA then has until the end of September to issue their final thoughts.

Possibly some information may start to come out once UL has received the NCAA's response.

Have they actually filed their appeal?
Anybody know for sure?

I'm just ready for those banners to disappear forever. The first division 1 program to have a championship vacated. How embarrassing that must be for the red pigeons. :cool2::cool2::cool2::cool2::cool2::cool2:
