you guys watching this? Thoughts?
They are playing pretty well.
And, yes, "UNC Sux", "MD Sux", Trimble has a girls haircut, the uniforms are ugly has already bee thought...

This has been a fantastic game. Something to be said about good teams bringing out the best in one another.

Defense is pretty sketchy. But bith are looking impressive on offense in the second half. I knew Carolina was good, but I wasn't too impressed with Maryland before tonight. They look pretty tough in the second half.

UNC is for real; especially with Paige back.

RIght now, UK, UNC, MSU & UL (just kidding) & Kansas. Look like the cream of the crop. I still think Maryland is a pretender.

I'll refrain from my feelings on un-CHEAT and the twerps and instead say I'm watching Miami/Nebraska. Lol I'm probably the only one

it's what teams look like that have guys all over the floor that can make a shot outside 5 feet.

Yeah, I think UNC may have as many 3's tonight as we have all season. I'm kidding of course, but they have 9 tonight. We have had two games (6-13 and 6-17) where we shot good and decent, but otherwise it has been an adventure from 3.

Melo Trimble is Tyler Ulis with another 5 inches of height. Maryland would be winning this game if Trimble had demanded the ball more in the first half. Now they are losing because the last few possessions Trimble has not had the ball and others have taken bad shots.

Miami won 77-72 in OT (if anyone other than me was watching this instead lol). It won't go in the books as a good win for them, but I had a feeling a weeknight game halfway across the country would be tough for them. Good for them gutting it out after the loss to Northeastern.

And now I'll against my better judgment bite the bullet and watch the last couple minutes of twerps/cheaters. Best news for me out of this game is one of them had to lose

we've seen this before - Maryland keeps jacking up threes; they got it to two possessions with enough time on the clock to go for higher percentage shots. Oh well -

But also 7 turnovers the last time I saw.

Purdue and neb also looked pretty good. I can't wait to watch duke and ind plus ul and mich st play tomorrow night. Mich st and ind are also two tough teams. Sure does make me nervous about how good we really are.

I disagree...I think this game is fool's gold for both teams because they are so similar to one another; no defense and no grit. It's like Grayson Allen/Duke playing against every other team except Kentucky. I would be surprised to see either of these teams go deep into the tournament when half court offense and defense are what matters most.

Hitting 70% of your 3s will do that. Also playing at home and Paige's comeback. No way they were losing this one.

well - guess unc** fans will start filling up the Dome again for a while.

Both teams UNC**Cheats and Maryland looked good but Maryland had a lot of turnovers. Good game.

Someone has to fill up the last level of hell. And it's definitely un-CHEAT basketball that does it best.
Although Maryland for me is not very far above them. This has nothing to do with what type of teams they have this season, I'm just a strong believer in letting your true feelings being known rather than holding them inside :pimp:

Purdue was impressive. Granted I don't know how good Pitt will be this year (likely better than last season, not sure by how much), but Purdue blitzed them early in a tough environment, took a punch back from Pitt and responded very well taking control down the stretch. Hammons, Haas and Swanigan are gonna be a nightmare for most teams to deal with. Kinda tough to say with Nebraska. They got blown out by Villanova, won the games they should have and played good Cincy and Miami teams tough. They'd be better in a lesser conference and should be a tough out on their home court for the most part, but I don't see them getting into the upper half of the conference.

Louisville/Michigan State will likely be one of those physical wars. I think it'll be close for a while till MSU takes control down the stretch and wins by somewhere between 8 and 12 points. Duke/IU I see being more of a shootout with around the same result of Louisville/MSU.. home team (Duke) winning by 8 to 12.

Both teams looked good. Paige was much sharper than I expected him to be in his first return... Wish we still had UNC on the OOC schedule, even though that would really put our OOC schedule over the top in terms of difficulty.

Trimble is great, the 8 turnovers are a bit concerning though. Maryland also has some good bigs. They have a good mix of talent but they do some really dumb things too often.
UNC is the same every year. They can score but they are never good on defense. They always seem to score 87ppg but give up 70+ to everyone they play.

Cal's teams never rely on threes.

We need to shoot a better percentage for sure, but a measly 4 more makes from outside the arc and we are on pace with last years team through. And we are actually better this season from the free throw line than at this point last season.

Point being....we will improve greatly. Also, we're the type of team that only needs to shoot about 10-12 threes a game generally. Make 4-5 per game and we are good to go.

Both teams look pretty good. I know some were worried that the Terps weren't for real and not a threat to win the title, but after watching this game, i think it's more obvious the Terps are going to be a really good team come March. The big center for Maryland is just a freshman and will be even better at the season goes on. He has such a big body and nice game for a freshman going against a team like Unc. Paige looks good for UNC but if we know Paige by now, in 2 or 3 more games he will be injured again and be out for 2 or 3 months. It sucks for the kid, but it seems to happen year after year so i'm not going to be surprised when it happens again. Trimble is a talent and can pass the ball. He does turn the ball over more than many want, but with this kid, you have to take the good with the ball. If it means he turns the ball over some, so be it.

Both those teams look better than we have but I agree with this assessment. If our arc of improvement is similar to past couple of years for our freshman we will be more than equipped to take on either UNC or MD. Stone was a better get than I thought he'd be for Maryland.
