Ulis getting a lot of wear and tear and rolling up lots of miles having to carry this team, will be glad for Dominque to get back and give him some rest. If not that might come back to bite us. I enjoy watching him play( Ulis) as much as any player I have ever watched right there with Kenny Walker, Dan Issel and Jamal Mashburn they are players who carried a tremendous load for UK.

I agree, he need a min. or two off every now and then, but the team is not the same without him..

Love Dom, but he is not the answer for Tyler to catch a break. He is not the floor general and doesn't facilitate the way Tyler does. I think Cal is attempting to mold Briscoe into that backup role. Cal lights into Briscoe every single time he makes the slightest mistake when controlling the team. So for Tyler to take a few minutes off here and there we need Briscoe to step up his PG skills. The problem is that he is still trying to learn the 2 guard spot at this point.

Thank you OP for actually spelling his name right.
That kid is amazing. How do you guard a guy that shoots as well as he does from 15-20' and can penetrate any time he wants?
Brickso is a hot mess when he's running the team, it was ugly when Tyler went out and Brickso had to run the team. We don't have enough time to fix that so we need to ride tgat 5' 9" horse to the finish line. He's tough enough to do it.

Still Dom is needed to spell Ulis regardless of who you call the PG. Dom was beginning to hit the J before his injury. Dom, Briscoe, & Murray is good for 2/3 mins at a time. Matthews is good too....was part of a 4 G line up once yesterday when Willis was out.

Agree. 36 mpg is a formula for being worn out going into March Madness.

Speaking of Ulis, I don't keep up with the rest of college basketball a ton, but if someone is better than Ulis as a PG they must be damn good.

It's really not who's best, it's who is best for their team. That's Ulis 24/7x41 games.[thumb2]

Cal could steal a few minutes rest for Tyler here and there in games,he chooses not to do that(starters on the floor with 3 and change to go yesterday) A minute or 2 as we approach a T.V. time out wouldn't beat us(it is not like we never waste time burning a shot clock anyway)

Wear and tear? He is 20, in fantastic shape and is probably going to play in the NBA next season. Maximum amount of games in college is 40 and there is almost always 3-4 days between games. 82 games in the NBA with back to back games pretty frequently and way more traveling and there are many guys playing 35+ minutes every game in the league and some of those guys are 30+ years old. I'm certain Ulis can handle these minutes. Nobody worried about James Young playing 36 minutes almost every game, don't know why they are so worried about Ulis. Nobody can keep up with him and he doesn't seem to slow down at all in the 2nd half. This is honestly one of the weirdest things that posters constantly bring up on this board. It seems like Ulis and Cal talk a lot, and coach really trusts his judgment. If Tyler is telling him, "I can play the whole game" then Cal will listen. And you know Tyler wants to be out there.

We have no choice but to ride him until the wheels fall off.

Offense instantly stagnants when he;'s out & we can;t afford to waste minutes with this squad.
