Ulis named a NBA player of the month

Wowww that is in the Western Conference where you have Westbrook, Harden and Leonard battling for MVP!

Can't believe there are still mock drafts that have the Suns taking Lonzo Ball at #2.

I just wish this stuff would stop getting published here until these guys stop under-performing in the NBA.

I have been a UK fan since 1947 and Ulis is one of my favorite players. When he brought the ball up the floor , a great calm spread over me knowing he would never do something incredibly stupid but would get everyone in the correct spot and get them the ball where they should get it.. His performance at South Carolina after Cal got tossed is one of my favorite UK games of all time. I remember Cal saying to KP, "you run the defense, Tyler will run the offense."

Is it crazy to think that the Suns will go for another Kentucky guy over Ball? I think it's reasonable to say that they have seen the productivity of Kentucky players and would consider overlooking Ball to land Fox.
IMO, Fox is the better prospect anyway. But it would shock a lot of people to see Fox go over Ball.

Yeah, this wasn't player of the month. Both of those guys are rookies. No way Willy Hernangomez was the best player in the East last month.

Still a nice honor at a time when all teams are getting their young guys reps.

Rookie of the month is still impressive for a guy like Ulis.

And if anyone pays attention to the NBA and Ulis...you know why he left after 2 years. Guy is good if given minutes. No surprise.

Unbelievable what Tyler has accomplished so far this season and it's just the beginning for him. He has surprised a lot of people and I'll bet he has some GM's shaking their heads as to why they passed on him in the draft when they had the opportunity. So happy for him and hope he has a great career, dreams do come true!!

Don't know if Yogi was under consideration for this month but I do know he's already won it once. I'm sure you knew this.

Yeah, I knew that about Yogi but I was under the impression that this was Player of the Month not Rookie of the Month. Yogi has done better than I thought he would for sure.

I just ran some numbers:

Seeing as how Ulis got little play until March, here's his numbers since then (eyeballing a bit here):

14 ppg
8 apg
3 rpg (Ulis.. is grabbing 3 rebounds.. in his rookie year.. in a league where pretty much everyone is a foot taller)
3:1 Assist to Turnover ratio

Absurd. And think of this: Ulis would be in the running for ROY if he had all year.
