watch any game highlight from last year. you'll notice a trend. at least one 30-40 foot precision alley oop that is a virtual tap-in, a change of direction on penetration play that results in a wide open slam, and a pass so good that it almost looks like showboating. and as accurate as he is, his anticipation to set up ground to get the passes off is even better.

he knows when to make his move and shed his defender for a moment. all to make a pass. he knows when his post player gets a guy on his hip, or has any opening. he knows how to get the ball there. same with kickouts to our shooters. of course this was last year, and he may be more impressive this year considering his responsibility.

you got to love a pg that never turns it over, is the best defender and never in foul trouble, and is a precision passer. watch any sec road game highlight from last year. really any of them and you realize how good he is all the time. pound for pound...i won't say it lol

I won't mention names but we had a couple that would throw horrible lobs. You would think it would be easy, never played at that level though, on either end of the lob. :flush:

teague was pretty good

i think briscoe is the best defender
yeah teague was good. briscoe is a stud defender, but he can't stay in front of a pg better than ulis, not without using his arms. he's a physical player though and there may be a couple times in the tournament where briscoe may be getting lead assignment on the other teams pg. his height is an advantage vs ulis plus rebound. but he just can't hawk the ball like ulis can. i still say pound for pound with ulis as an overall pg. but with lobs it's not even close imho. and i mean any that i remember.

Thank God all these games are televised now, I remember in the 1960's listening to the games on the radio with my dad. "Coach Rupp is livid...."

Ulis is my favorite player ever now recently bumping Jay Schidler from that throne...my only small problem with Tyler is his trash talkin and trying to start crap...tired of the technicals

I'd like to see more.[winking]

Ulis would have been lethal with all the towers we had inside last year, with an option to drive, lob, it kick out to the sniper in Booker.

I love Ulis. I could watch the kid play hours on end. Dirk may have been the best though. Someone referenced the Minny to Bowie lob against LSU. I have been watching UK basketball since the 50's. That was the absolute best lob I have ever seen. One thing I will add to that lob was that the building actually shook. Bowie's hand had to be at the top of the backboard. Was one of the most unbelievable plays I have ever seen.

Nobody was better than Teague lobbing to Davis.
Worst lobber was Harrow.....absolutely pathetic. Nerlens would have scored much more and easy with Teague or Ulis. Really feel bad about the experience Nerlens had at UK, he could have been a stud.
