After 18 games (Tyler missed one)...Ulis has 108 assists to but 35 turnovers.
That's about a 3.1 assists to 1 turnover ratio.

My question is what is the UK record for a single season in this category?

Paging Mr. Scott....Mr...Scott....

Looking at the top 10 assist seasons, Epps had seasons of 193-62 (3.11:1) and 175-53 (3.30:1). Don't know if somebody with fewer assists had a better ratio.

I just hope he doesn't start rationing his assists. Then again, if he rations them against Mizzou and uses more of them against Kansas, it could be good !

Don't have single season handy but a few days ago I tweeted out career numbers and Ulis was #1 by a wide margin.

Of course this only covers players back to the late 70s as assists and especially turnovers weren't always kept before then.

Thanks Mr. Scott.
Its clear that Ulis has a shot at some very impressive numbers this season but the main number he wants I'm sure is #9.

As much as I loved Epps, what Ulis is doing is a lot more impressive. Epps didn't have to run many halfcourt sets, and he was never given the ball and told to create offense. Epps was outstanding in what he did for the teams he played on, but what he was asked to do was not comparable to what Ulis is being asked to do.

I wasn't super happy with Ulis earlier in the season, but he has REALLY picked up recently.

Amazing to watch. I bet some smart team will take him in first round. I hope he goes to organization like Spurs. Would love to see him playing there.

Here's the list by season (minimum 50 assists):

What would be considered a good ATO ratio, and what would be considered great ATO?

Man, can you imagine if our shots were falling earlier in the season? He'd probably be at 4 or even 5 ATO by now.

You have to imagine that number will only go up as he continues to figure out the personnel and team chemistry, while also improving his own game.

Mr. Scott...do you think Ulis catches Epps?

Sorry I had a problem with my database which wasn't including some recent players. Ulis already passed Epps during Tyler's freshman year. Below is the updated list:

Crazy!!! 3.55 is amazing. hahaha that's crazy high.

I think Ulis's number will go up slightly, but i doubt it'll get that much higher.

BTW, you guys might freak out if I remove all restrictions (i.e. minimum number of assists). Doing that then UK's All-Time leader in Assist:TO ratio is.......(drumroll)

Steve Masiello, with 10 assists and only 2 turnovers (Ratio of 5.0) in 1998-99.

It's interesting that the list is not filled with more of Cal's point guards!
