meh I can't get on someone for announcing tickets sold instead of actual attendance. Everyone does it including us. It does illustrate what a joke an expansion of cardinal stadium is. They'll only sell it out twice a year. Trinity vs St X and when they play Kentucky

This has NOTHING to do with the need for more seating but EVERYTHING to do with being able to say that they have the largest stadium in the state.

there were a lot of empty seats between the 40's in the first 40 rows... those should almost always be full... hell people should move to them from bad seats if no one is in them.
here's where what i've been telling my ul fan friends is tested... the first year that ul isn't looking at a 1 to 3 loss season, the fair weather fans are gonna jump ship. now ul does have 40000 to 50000 die hard fans that will follow them regardless but how many can show up on a given saturday? so you run into a full house when clemson comes to town and if they lose that one... there won't be 25,000 at the samford game. nc st and fsu you figure is at least 1 more loss and how many show up to that bc game? my work has $20 bc tickets with a $10 concession voucher.... and they still have the sign up for a month now.

The next thing Jurich will do is to sell "tickets to the game" at Kroger for a dollar. The ticket looks and feels like a ticket....but it doesn't actually grant you admission to the game. It will simply be a ticket that says..."Ticket to game Vs. Houston 9/12/15." Maybe with a picture of their soon to be floated for Heisman candidate of the moment on the front and a coupon for buy 1 get one free PJ pizza on the back. With the ticket you just watch at home on your TV....and be included in the attendance total.

Jurich will do some big promotion until they break some kind of NCAA record for most "tickets sold to the game." Then the tweet from Steve Jones_CJ will say...though seats are not filled, ticket-wise its a NCAA record sell-out.

Much easier to decide to blow off actually going to the game when you have little to nothing invested in the tickets. If they're giving tickets away to people who aren't really UofL football fans just so they can claim a sell out then they can expect a whole lotta pink in the stadium for the game when those people who don't really care that much about the game decide they have something better to do. I understand their motivation for expanding, but that might seriously backfire on them. Having thousands of empty seats at all or most of your games is not good for the image of your program (especially when the empty milk crate seats are pink). If the losing continues it could get really embarrassing.
